Originally made for Aimee (was her birthday, she wanted a hangout level for UN...), I decided I'd just put my time into it and try to make something good to post here (like I do every year).

Halfway through I kind of forgot it was supposed to be a hangout level, explaining the stump and 2 chairs. Some of you might remember I made a waterfall level last year kind of like this...I wasn't happy with it. But this one seems fine.

Rate, crit, etc.

edit- Rufus didn't like the original, so I edited it based on what he thought was wrong.

The waterfall on the top cliff that falls down alone looks fine, most likely because the cliffs next to it bend down, and not up like the other one, but the other one looks strange.
Same with the other 2 (the lower ones), I like the smaller and the single waterfall, but the other one looks strange.
Nevertheless, nice work

Way to busy on the ground, in all honesty I agree with thehawker a little that it is kinda boring, but in general there are way to many tiles on the ground, looks like you just randomly put them everywhere.

Erm, i think that itself is a very creative level.

The path on the left ends and suddenly breaks into a hill of streams and waterfalls.

And what would you consider a more "creative" level?

I think you'll have a damn hard time finding any level meant to be outside 'creative'. All outside levels will consist of the same thing: grass/trees/water/cliffs. There's nothing else except for houses... but this isn't meant to be a town. It is exactly what it was designed to be, an exterior level. If you mean layout wise... you sure as hell don't sound like it, so I won't even explain there.

Anywho... the two large left/right cliff walls are really distracting, mainly because the rest of the cliffs are so random, then there's just those huge rectangle resembling areas(this only looks bad zoomed out in the thumbnails, full-size I don't think it's a problem). Also, what you said earlier is true. This doesn't really resemble a hang-out, in fact, there barely seems any room to actually hang out.

Sorry Dusty but I fail to see the retangle areas.
And yeah, originality is hard to find with pics1 because theres not much besides grass tiles and water.

Like I said, only really shows up in the attachments. Once I viewed the level fully it isn't that noticeable, but still might be something to look at.

Yeah. This is the style Wan taught me back in 2004. However I've been working on a new style that gets rid of that weird shape. Will probably post a level with it when I finish, assuming my VIP isn't out by then.

Kinda disappointed none of you pointed out the detail...I thought the swamp area looked really nice. Also doesn't anyone care about style anymore? I remember in 2004 when I started posting levels like these, people would notice the little details...

I actually did. That's usually what I mean when I say "It's Beautiful", including the cliffing, paths, etc. I DO look at the detail.

Yeah, except I didn't randomly put things everywhere. Mushrooms only around trees/swamp, bushes in areas least walked on, etc. Tried not to use flowers too much as levels look ugly when there's too many flowers in my opinion. Grass blades always in clumps.

The rest is just how I've normally detailed and people tend to like it. :]
