A little taste of what's to come...

Luckily, I was recently hired as Customer Relations Manager, and can now post this without big-bad 'upper' people deleting it.


Manager: Cyanide SR71, you might remember him from Shadow Dragons or Shifting Ages or something.

What he does is a bit is design RPGs, which is why I am posting. What I'd like to introduce to you guys in Project Ambition: the creation of Dalikos.

What Dalikos will have to offer when it's finished:
1. Fusion of a medieval/magic setting w/ a futuristic guns/plasma weapons setting (Magitek). The storyline's been worked out, and it's has several cliff hangers and plot shifts to keep you guessing. There will be in-depth concentration on the cultures of the people, kinda like in starcraft, where the characters and civilizations almost seemed real even though they are obviously fake.
2. A completely unique tileset, probably completely made by me, unless I find anyone else good enough. A couple of special things will be added, but nothing big.
3. Since my style looks nothing like Graal's, a new body must be made for the player. Why not deck this one out? Players will probably have 16 directions instead of the usual 4, which will kick ass in gun battles, which will mimic GTA 1 & 2 style. While using melee weapons like the sword, gameplay will revert to grail-type controls, except w/ lock-on target modes, and extra abilities such as dashing as fast as you can, and doing rolls. Weapons will also have several options like combos, reaching attacks, and basically will be a lot different from what Graal normally sees.
4. All new enemies, that use strategy and teamwork.
5. Quests that have a purpose. No, I'm serious!
6. Jobs that aren't a waste of time, but involve doing stuff you'd like to actually do, so getting money isn't dull and boring.
7. A couple races if there's time… They'll have completely different gameplay than humans, but be useful.


What I need from you guys:
Right now Dalikos is a one-man battle. I could use a couple of talented people to help me in getting this thing done.
1. A couple gfx guys: I don't think there are too many people who can make things at my level of detail, so I don't expect to get anybody like it. I need some people who are good at outlining… I'll fill in the details for ya. Also, I could really use some sprite makers.
2. Scripters: This is what I really need. I used to be an awesome scripter back in 1.41… But afterwards I really didn't try anything else. So I don't even know what NPC server code really looks like, but I do know it's capabilities. People who can script pretty hard-to-do weapons and baddies can walk right on. Anyone interested in scripting a new player would also be wanted.

Dalikos? That was extremely promising when I saw it a long way back (on the Shadow Dragons website). Cool to see it's still going!

Hmm Dalikos, sounds very familiar, I believe is was started a very long time ago but never finished?

Edit: Hadn't read other posts before, it was the SK website, I think I was an LAT on there for about 2 days, while it was going downhill, had a very nice staff section of the website as I remember, that was at least 2-3 years a go though
