Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
Fake RC Security Hole E-mail (from: [email protected])

Do NOT download these files. You should only need to download these files for RC etc from the graalonline.com website and no where else so do not download this.

Quote:
Message in E-Mail
Hello, there has been a security hole found in the latest RCs that can allow hackers to gain access or steal personal files and passwords while the RC is connected, it is critical that all staff get the latest hotfix on a secure undisclosed server to fix this problem and can be downloaded at http://www.************.com/private/work.htm

It uses ActiveX (Hope ya had it disabled ) It will write over and over to a text file, Will slow down your computer because of the large amount of writting but really not very dangerous.
Spark should censor that URL, I'll go ahead and do it for him

Found it now: Guide for IE

1) Tools > Internet Options > Security
2) Internet > Custom Level
3) Change/Disable What You Want > Ok
4) Apply > Ok > DONE

I wouldn't trust an e-mail that says it's from any of the graal staff unless it's personalized and shows it wasn't mass e-mailed.... but just written for me
Unlikely I guess

You dont need to trust that, if its asking you for a password or to download anything, then don't. Also if its asking you to click a URL, then done.

I like how microsoft takes said standards, and mutates them unrecognisably, and calls them "features"

I use Microsoft but only so I can return this PC in a week when Gateway tells me "Sorry, sir, we couldn't fix your problem with the computer fan chipped in half, even though it's under warranty."

Firefox is definitely a good IE alternative, considering it's more secure so you don't lose your Graal account, has more built-in features (popup blocker, cookie controls). And I don't see why anybody would open up an email from Stefan containing a link anywhere besides Graal... he doesn't do that.

I'm reluctant to upgrade to 0.8 because of the goofy name.

They renamed it due to copyright issues, besides, Firefox is a more unique name anyway, I prefer it.

Yeah I knew why they did it, but it reminds me too much of Starfox. How much of an improvement is .8 over .7?
