Best for the job? Possibly good for the job (and a lot of people already argue that Darlene is not). Best for the job would be Kamuii.

What's done is done, deal with it. Give them both a chance to prove themselves. Afterall, this is unixmad's business and his decision and it's highly unlikely you could persuade him to re-think it.

I would have to say seeing Unix is one of the top 2, what he says is final. You may not like it as you may not like a lot of things that will happen in your lifetime. The answer is
Quote:
deal with it

I would just like to say one thing to those saying I have no experiance...
I do have my own boards that I am admin of (Moon God and I both) They were active when I managed Npulse, and the boards were for Npulse, the only thing that is different is there are alot more people who post here. I also agree that experiance isnt really necessary as it isnt terribly hard to figure out.
I'm not saying the job will be easy, and I am sure I will make mistakes, afterall I am human.

I thought unixmad closed the other thread because there was fighting about this? This thread is titled "Calm down" so please calm down.

You guys aren't going to change unixmad's opinion about the supermods. He hired Moon_Goddess and Spark and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Kamuii would be a great supermod if given the chance, and I am sure he will be given the chance sometime soon.

You impersonated unixmad and you think you're good for the job?
Even if it was a joke, mature people wouldn't do that in the first place.

Experience? Why do you think it needs experience? because that's one of the only few reasons you could come up with against the new Mods?

Maybe it's just me because I'm really clever and smart? (Ha), but knowing the rules, and making sure people stick to them isn't hard at all. Maybe some people find that sounds like a hard thing to do, but because I'm really smart n all, I don't.

Because due to the way the rules are written, things are not always black and white. There are instances where a post is only bending the rules and not clearly breaking them (such as my post in this thread that was deleted wrongly). Therefore, you need experienced mods who can make good solid judgements. It's a much more difficult job than you seem to think it is.

Because you don't understand the finer points of being a supermod.

It was Unixmad's decision to hire 3, I seriously doubt that it was because he thought 1 person was not capable of doing the job, but rather so that 1 person would not HAVE to handle it all, I dont see the problem here.

USUALLY when people call themself smart & clever... they aren't.

Notice how I said USUALLY. Because I used to do that (in school) but I grew out of it because it was inmature.

Damn you, missing the point, notice the 'ha'? The point was, I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack, but even I don't find it a hard thing to do.

Using your common sense helps?

And no, maybe it's YOU that think's it's hard, ya know, like some people think 10 + 10 is hard.

[A little Note]
No doubt people will disagree with me, but I really can't be bothered defending myself everytime someone comes up with a smart insult, I've said my view. If you don't like it, oh well.

No, but enforcing those rules correctly and not flipping out over the smallest of violations and interpreting a rule incorrectly is much harder.

I could bring up several posts, but I'm really trying not to mudsling here.

I think it was due to the fact that Angel is too busy to be an effective supermod. Nothing was being done to maintain the forum. It's not her fault, it's unixmad's for making such crappy decisions. The fact remains that there are other candidates with more time, more dedication, more experience, and better judgement than all THREE of you.

Common sense is inherently flawed and should not be used in law enforcement. Just because the general public thinks something is true does not make it correct. Logic and sound decision making is much better to use when enforcing rules.

I think it is difficult because I understand the job and how one correctly does the job. You do not, and therefore think it is easy, just as Moonie does. As I said, there are times when you have to make judgement calls on posts where the enforcement is not clear cut. A prime example of this is with spam posts.

Err... I think we should congratulate them and not make ill of them reguarding their job unless they do something horrible pertaining to it.

Congratulations on becoming Super Moderators. May you use your powers with both wisdom and fairness.

It's difficult to do that when people are hired that are completely wrong for the job.

they arent completly wrong for the job; you are making this sound worse than it really is. sure, they may not be as qualified as a nameless somebody, but, hell, you don't even know that for sure. so please quit complaining. this isn't really getting anywhere and you have yet to give one good reason why they won't make good super mods. i, for one, think spark will. i am not so sure about moon goddess, but i am sure she will pull through and do an alright job.

Jobs do not have to be hard, you know. In fact, with greater understanding comes greater ease. If you have good judgement, it's not hard to look at a situation and say "Oh okay, that shouldn't be there" or "Nah, that's fine".

Some of the time, but not always. Common sense said the Earth was flat at one point for instance.

My point is that Moon Goddess does not have adequate understanding of the job and will not make good judgements.

Edit - I'm not "trying to sound like Kaimetsu". Don't be so childish.

Their post history on the forums
The time they spend on the forums
The time they have to dedicate to other activities.

But the evidence shows that these people are not likely to change their habits. Sure, there's always a possibility that they could rock at the job, just as there is a possibility that jazz jackrabbit will spring out of my monitor, but the point is that when one considers the three factors I posted above, it is not likely that they will do a good job.

The problem with 3 mods is that everyone interprets things differently, there will be arguements on what course of action should be taken

I dont know, I think if one of us has a problem with what another has done, we can discuss it privately, and come to an understanding, I dont think that will be a problem at all
