I totally agree, hasn't this been done one time too many now? A server goes up and next thing you know a complete overhaul of the overworld ? If you guys don't have backups (which is really dumb in the first place if you don't) I think Aftershock is very right in what he says " it doesn't deserve to be online" because that is not what was passed by the PWA and you are just skirting the process. In my opinion only if you don't have backups then you should not go online and go to the bottom of the list of servers waiting to go up, this in my opinion is fair to those who are already waiting.

We are going to move everything to the GMAP. Rob has backups of the server and we are going to put everything on the gmap, such as levels. We are not letting anyone down. We just are using a GMAP for our overworld, all the quests will be the same, if not improved, and all the levels will still be there.

AND DAMMIT QUIT SPAMMING ABOUT SPAM...Jeeze...

Why change something that has passed?
It passed for a reason.
Servers do not go private so they can redo everything.
They go private so that staff can get all the NPCs working with NPC server.
Servers should have a set limit of time to be private and if they arn't done when that time's up tuff.
And if a server wants to redo their entire overworld they should:
a) Have a current full server for players to play on
b) Do it behind closed doors with staff still working on the current public server.
All these servers going private then redoing overworlds is ridiculous and should be stopped now.

About the screenshot...

That is not our world ok? For some reason the tileset is the 2002 one. Zallan, your an idiot for posting it. Post another and your dead. Post screenshot = dead.

About the playerworld...

Just to shut up aftershock, Im gonna put the old overworld up where players can go during the time we work on the GMAP. No it doesnt mean its released...We will release some area of regular old Renegade for people who like it. When you see our completed GMAP, then post your comments.

The thing you people FAIL to understand is... Only the overworld is changing. Everything else is staying, insides, quests, storyline. We're just making a new overworld and yes our old overworld sucked and wasn't even close to being done so whats getting hurt? It's No extra work and it's not gonna be like 2k2. I just wanted to add more relealitic to Renegade with Hills etc. SO I suggest you give us a chance with this before you even judge it.

There was a reason why I inspected Renegade, there was a reason why it passed. It passed because the server was fine as it is. It's almost like betrayal. People use the PWA to get their server online then totally remake the server without the restrictions of influence of the PWA itself. Because of that, I am very dissapointed

Is GMAP that bad that now just because of changing the overworld that was never finished to something different making us the worst server ever?

Well I have been getting complaints about Renegade using GMAP because we passed with our other overworld. I want an opinion on Renegade's fans about what to do. Regular or Gmap? Post reasons why.

I'm staff but and I have control over the decison but........
I prefer GMAP because:
Right now we are using a 3D GMAP and other playerworlds are using flat gmaps. This makes us stand out and be different from the cliche of flat levels. We can change our tileset to use the 2002 style of levels
(using a tileset for terrain and GFX for everything)
Also, it is not that hard to port levels from the old Renegade overworld onto our new GMAP. We may need the GMAP editted for placement but other than that it is a simple way and 3D GMAPs look proffesional instead of the cartoon graphics of regular Graal.

Actually I'd rather keep the old map now, we're getting flame by our own fans which I don't see why considering they never saw the old map

But Aftershock has been getting pissed and I think he blocked me so I'd rather make people happy instead of wasting time on what I want.

I think what they are trying to say is that Reengade passed because we made our own GFX and our own tileset, without using things used in other servers, such as the GMAP. Im pretty sure aftershock is trying to say that the PWA passed Renegade because they likes the idea of us making our own non-original things for Renegade itself. Not that I have any problem with renegade using the GMAP, its just that i think the people dont want to see us using things that they have already seen enough of...

BTW- A lot of people dont like 2002 because of the GMAP. Just somehting to think about ^_^

I'm not pissed, and I didn't block you on aim, I'm just dissapointed. What was the point of sending in renegade if you were going to change 50% of it afterwards anyways? At least let people see what the old overworld is like and they can enjoy it, if by chance it's not a huge success, make an overworld in gmap offline and update it in the future, but not now.
