Orrrr.... if it's just hiring people that live in their area to work at the office, then you're going to be having the problem of finding people that not only can:

script in graalscript
make levels
make graphics that fit in with graal
communicate with the players
be a robot with no emotions or opinions

but also.. speak english. If you hire people to work in your area most of them probably speak french and not english, so that would make Graal more foreign to English speaking people..

to be honest, your respect for the administrators doesnt really mean THAT much.

it doesnt allow them to work more efficiently, it doesnt let them make better levels, it doesnt let them do better at police work.
it doesnt let them design faster server programs either.

respect or not, the admins will continue to do good work, unless they are corrupt\power hungry and quit.

I am hoping/assuming the new full-timer will be a Stefan Jr. and not a Paid Tyhm. That'd suck, to have someone else paid to replace me. Just pay me to replace me! ^_^

Neh, but another guy to help Stefan code stuff would be great, assuming they can share work. A lot of programming is one-man jobs, but if Stefan's on one project and Stefan Jr.'s working on another, get things done twice as fast. G2K2, G2K1, both getting fixed simultaneously....

unfortuanatly stefan has came in contact with good delphi scripters, i know for fact.

one of my staff is excellent delphi scripter who offered his assitance, and stefan talked for him a bit then ignored.

stefan missed out.

If they're scripting then I ask that you make available to us whatever documentation you use to help them learn. Things like the NPC Server are horribly documented at the moment.

The new programmer will not be there to replace you Tyhm but to script for G2K2, it's a very good programmer that have done his own game engine in 3D and will help to make graal3D when we will start it.

Most of you havent spoke with Contego I bet and you are just following what seems to be 'cool' so mainly you don't count. Second Contego is a nice guy, and I am sure it's hard for him tog et his ideas and what what he actually plans on doing out to everyone. Not everyone is going to like them but don't forget the problem can be fixed. You guys are flaming Contego over and over again when he has not posted or anything, like I said there is more to the story and once Contego decides to speak up we will hear his story to and see what happens.

Third that's incorrect syntax >=/

And that log didn't show him as a nice guy. It showed him as a punk who couldn't take the power he was given, and expressed it by trying to put himself above all of the G2K1 staff - even though he was in the wrong.

I like Contego, but at times he can be very disrespectful and thinks he is better than everyone. He did something very wrong and should face the consequences. He doesn't have to stop being global GM, but severely restrict his power on 2k1 because it is a delicate server and the admins that deal with it now know what is going on. If there is something very important that he has to do he can go there and do it, but if the other admins have a problem with it he should explain himself and if there still is a problem he shouldn't do it. Birdbird and Loriel know what to do for 2k1 because they interact with the players and know what is going on. Contego claims to know what is going on, but he doesn't and that's a problem. He also creates new positions without telling people fully about them and that's also a problem. Now I don't know what Stephane is going to do about it but he should take into consideration that a good GM must interact with the players, not sit on RC all day and think they know what's going on.

Thank you James. None of you have heard of Contego's side of the story. You all have looked at it on Birdbird and the other RCs side of view. Contego might have been having a bad day while that was going on. When I was ET Admin/Police Chief, I saw a lot worse things going on in RC chat. I'm not going to say what, but if you ask me, I might tell you. I'm also not going to post a log, for I have none. RC chats are supposed to be for GO staff ONLY. That log should not have been given out.

1) Contego had no right to throw his weight around and talk about firing Torankusu. Going off on a power trip like that is infinitely unprofessional.
2) Birdbird tried to talk to Contego about what was a serious problem and he replied with disrespectful things like "*yawn*"
3) If Contego were the better man then he wouldn't have banned Birdbird in revenge. Childishness * 100.
4) He was insulting everybody else, acting in an incredibly snobbish manner and playing God.

You wouldn't support him if you weren't his friend. It's obvious he cares more about his ego than helping Graal.

From what I read, Contego wasnt throwing his weight around as you say, I believe it was said on the RC that he was acting on what Unixmad had told him to do.

Ban a person from revenge? Isnt that what bird bird did?

Contego was professional, but kind of retaliated in the end after being attacked so horribly, noone is perfect but he did not deserve that kind of treatment

Contego and I are not great friends as you think, I said I have known him a long time, and I have alot of respect for him and what he is trying to do, and I do support him, because what he is doing he is doing for the good of graal

In another thread birdbird says that everything has been resolved, well thats good for him, but the RC logs were posted here by some idiot that are not for players eyes to start with, and so many people misread it, and now Contego is being dragged through the mud. I have never seen such unbelievable behavior and attitudes, it makes me sick.

This will be my last post on this subject since it is a waste of time to most anyway, but I wanted to make my voice on the situation known

Look birdbird trying to explain and is being mocked and contego not even listening or caring. Birdbird has a point here. He is on the server everyday all day, his entire life for the last few months has been on graal helping, then someone comes in and mocks him and is rude to him while he trys to speak his word? Nobody did that to contego nor did bird do it to him. In that log look how contego talks, laughs at birdbird and thinks he is trying to be more powerful, yet even saying that to bird would make it seem like he is the one trying to be 'powerful'.

I talked to contego yesterday, he seems like a cool guy, but I do think he was a bit rude to the staff and had no right to act like that.

I have put time to explain that I will make my best to reorganize the team and make peoples focus on there task and not on making them more powerful.

Spiffy idea, but I don't get why this hasn't been done before, and exactly happens now.

If your goal is to thread me, your are out of luck since I don’t like to take decisions under pressure, I prefer that everyone explain his/her point of view and I take decisions.

I guess my point of view is clear enough, and I really don't want to pressure anybody. I understand that you are kind of busy, but you cannot be that busy.

If now you think you can not wait or that I will take decision because of your pressure it’s better to leave, the game was running before you and will run after you and all this is just pushing me to take more full time staff and less players to help.

I am not trying to threaten you or Stefan, just trying to express how disappointed I am of you. Contego obviously is still in power, while even the simpliest requests from me get ignored for days.
