Global Development Team Management

I'm pleased to announce that the Playerworld Administration alongside the Global Development Team has chosen Soala (Alexandralove) to head the team. He will be working alongside the rest of the team to formulate a plan for prioritizing what development improvements should be done and organizing teams to accomplish their goals. He will also be setting up rules and guidelines that will be the basis for what is expected of the members of the team.

We feel that by having a single person to contact with opinions, ideas and needs will help streamline the issue of who to ask for what. I still suggest asking for help with technical issues on the development forums or the irc channel but often you may be seeking help that you wish to not be up for public discussion and this will help with this process.

As a subdivision of the PWA, we expect that all of you will show them the respect you give to us. We also would like to remind you that this is a small group of exceptional development staff that can only work within their rights and time limitations so please don't burn them out before their time.

Please, dont make it worse. The IRC was the best thing to ever come from GDT, and its dead now. Though, hopefully Soala will turn that around.

unfortunately it doesn't mean anything will get done. i still have yet to see any good come from the GDT, and i'm pessimistic that this new leadership will lead to anything productive. hopefully the team can prove me wrong by doing something worthwhile

We're actually working on something at the moment that fowlplay4 has conned up. It will be something that will benefit future Playerworld developers to get them started. I'll let him speak regarding the matter further.

Thank you everyone, I will never give up on this.
For those who are pessimistic about the GDT and my leadership have my word, I will not let a single day go by without any work done.

Eh, my account is still an issue haha.
As you might know I'm french and started Graal in late 2001. The origins of my account name are not hard to guess, I was a young child "loving" a girl named alexandra, trying to be proud of it by using some fail english. Isn't it a cute story ?

First of all, congratulations.

Second, let's see your plans. Up until now the GDT has had no purpose and done virtually nothing to help out Graal as a whole. You need to choose the goal and state it out in the open.

Thus far, only a few members have done anything useful. Why do you think you can turn this around, and how do you plan to do it? There are member listed in the GDT wiki page with no examples of work or even contact information. How are these members helping Graal?

As of right now, the only people who can request help from the GDT are GDT members or server owners, and even for these people it's unclear how to do so. One of the things the GDT desperately needs is a more open structure so it can actually be utilized.

Yes, I am working with my fellow GDT on a project and as ben said it is aimed towards new server owners, that's all public really needs to know.

So, just wait for it to be released (Maybe a week or two depending on my schedule).

Nothing though has been done to improve my view of the GDT. I'm fairly sure it's actually gone downhill imo, as even the gdt forum access was removed from server owners (or just me?)

It's a shame that the entire thing is still being kept behind closed doors. It would be a private project if it wasn't a global staff team, but seeing as how it is, it should be open for anyone to view and criticize.

Criticism can also be a good thing. At least layout your plans once you have them made so others can comment on them. As the GDT your ultimate goal, I assume, is helping Graal out as a whole, and the community may have some good suggestions on doing that.
