Upgrade just to browse the forums? I can't think of any other forums that make you pay to use. If Graal is this desperate for money, maybe they should think of alternatives. I always pictured the forums as more of a refuge for those who upgraded, even if they didn't play anymore. Why would I pay for a gold subscription, when I don't want to play, just browse the forums? Any payment is too much for a forum, the fact that you had to have a classic subscription is odd compared to other games. But it never bothered me because it did stop people from creating expendable accounts. Classic accounts, however, are not quite expendable.
Everyone who gets tired of playing Graal and decide to troll, can do the same exact thing with a gold account.

EDIT: No one is saying that maintaining a website/forums is free. But EVERY OTHER PLACE MANAGES IT. There are so many alternatives, donations, ads, hell, maybe even try to find a sponsor. Graal is the only place I have ever been to that required subscriptions to use the forums.
And really, unless you make the whole forums private, it's not going to cut the bandwidth as long as people can still browse.

I'm asking you if you know.

I've yet to see any major deadly trolling on these forums. Sure, Classic accounts may post here, but I don't see them killing anyone.

Should I? Because you're not understanding SOME PEOPLE ENJOY THE FORUMS MORE THAN THE GAME.
We enjoy helping others with their problems in Graal, I enjoy making graphics for others to use. Some people like helping others with their scripting problems. It doesn't mean we want to play the damn game. The only way to get what we actually enjoy, the forums, we have to pay for a game that we don't want to really play.
Just because we don't play the game doesn't mean we're not helping Graal.

Well I just removed everything from Litheria. Not much point doing anything with it if I won't even be able to advertise it. One less server for you, Unixmad!

[Edit: Error on my part]

However, my last act will be to finish up the website and leave it as a valuable resource for budding developers. I know it sucked for me to learn so hopefully it will help others.

Bread is pretty cheap in Britain, not sure about anywhere else. Bread also goes moldy if you don't give it enough attention. Someone who eats all the bread you've paid for could be referred to as "greedy".

Are you going to eat the bread?

May be I am missing something here, but why can't you 'advertise' your server here? You currently have a vip subscription and planned to resubscribe, so what is the problem?
Update: seems there was some problem with the google ads on twinny.vip.graal.net, they display fine for me though

I understand the reasoning behind this. Though I dont think it's going to generate any more subscriptions. Especially from the "Classic Account" community.

Yeah. On second look, I found adblocking software on this comp. I was too jumpy: sorry.

In this case, I intend to finish the site and leave the ads for the original cause.

The only way that it is possible is through the website. I truly have no money available for Graal but I still always wanted to be active within the community.

I backed all my stuff up but I figure I shouldn't waste Tajia's server for now.

Wait wait wait...

People that have PAID for a classic subscription...
Have thus PAID to use graal....
Therefore have PAID to be in the graal community
Therefore have PAID to access the classic related forums?

Surely that should be the logic, no?

Posting here should be a privillege when you're upgraded. If you dont want to upgrade again, then you shouldnt get the full features graal has to offer you. The restriction was here before. If you dont pay, it obviously shows you dont have an interest in graal anymore.

Yes, none of us have an interest in Graal anymore. We're just all here helping with scripts, graphics and so on because we don't have an interest. Just because we don't pay for a GAME subscription doesn't mean we're not interested in the game forums.

Well the graal forums is a feature you get with paying for your graal account. If you dont want to, then thats your problem. The forums arent a right, a privillege.

Are you really trying to intimidate me with that? My point stands true that you really dont have an interest in graal if you dont wish to upgrade from time to time.
