Well, it makes sense, since the forums are included with Graal, and are for Graal. Why wouldn't it be included in a package, instead of seperate. That would be silly.

I was kinda hoping that even when my ability to dev and my vip site were taken away, i'd still be able to help in the forums. Not anymore .

This is a dumb decision. I could understand trials not getting access, but why not classic accounts? The forums were one of the few things left that Graal had going for it, for people to look forward to.

unixmad needs more $$$

Of course, this won't bring any money in, noone will pay for these forums, and graal is hardly worth paying for anymore.

Just put some ads on the forums that show if you don't have active gold.

Good idea, I could live with that.

Edit: If you want to make money with that to buy new vB licences...either buy a lifetime one, or use a free forum software (phpBB as an example. It's not bad! I know, it can be pretty hard to transfer all the posts etc. over to another forum, but it's possible.)

Do you think servers/bandwidth/licencing/developement/admin time is free? No it is not.

If graal is not worst paying then what are you doing here?

Exactly, it's not like this is going to net in the cash. The forums are pretty slow as is, I can only imagine what it'll be like once only gold members have access.

I'm part of the community, though I cannot be anymore in like...155 days. Well, atleast I cant use the forum anymore then.

If you are part of any community and you don't renew membership then you can't go any more on meeting, so why do you want graal to be different and let access to old member that don't renew membership?

I don't recall saying it was free. I said that noone is going to pay just for the forums, and that, to me, Graal is no longer worth paying for. I have a subscription, so I have every right to be here. So 'what are you doing here?' was rather mean.

Perhaps some of your development time could go into Universal Graal for Mac?

I am sorry, I am quite upset that so much time has been put into v5 for Windows, yet almost none into the Mac client. Even though we've paid for it, it'd cost to much to get a cheap Intel Mac to give us what we paid for?

Sorry again,
Chris Zakuto

You're basically telling people who no longer wish to upgrade to **** off regardless of how long they've played Graal or how much they have contributed.

Oh well, I'm with you Crow.

Actually, I'm also right now, part of 12-14 other communitys, and I will always stay part of them, because theres no membership that has to be renewed.

Unixmad wants money, not awesome people. Which is ok, this is his Graal (kinda), we're just playing it.

I'mma miss all the cool people this idea killed off.

That's rediculous. The forums should be including in the subscription to play Graal, not be free for those who do not wish to play/work for Graal anymore.

Why should they have to do that? It's simple, if you want all the benifits of playing Graal, including the forums, then upgrade. It's not like anyone will have to sell their soul to upgrade.

Perhaps we DO wish to work. Perhaps we wish to keep helping the community in the scripting section, or where ever we are good at.

We are being charged for helping other players. It's seriously not worth upgrading for if virtually all we do is sit in our respective forums and help people.

You are spending half of your day on these forums and you don't want to pay 1.5USD a month ? You think it's fare?

I get enjoyment out of helping other people learn the language. This is not something I wish to pay for. I would be happy to have ads in forums and even in games.

There are so many free MMOs out there which survive through the use of clever advertising.

Because the bread has always cost money. These forums have always cost money once, and then you had access for a while.

If when you bought your first bread, you were told you could pay $60 for lifetime bread, and you did it, you would get your bread every day for free. What if someone suddently told you, "Oh, you have to pay for bread again. No more lifetime bread for you!"
Also, why do you keep comparing Graal to bread? x.x

Actually, I'm only spending like 60-90 minutes on these forums daily. I can also visit some other forums instead of the Graal ones if you want me to do so..I'm never paying for being a member of a forum btw.

If you start thinking like that then everyone giving a advice to a player will have a good reason to not pay for the service.

We are giving free hosting and support to all classic playerworlds, so when people make interesting projects we are supporting them and we don't ask money.

We are asking 1.5USD/month to be part of the community use 100 computer that are hosting graal, get the graal client ported on most hardware software, server administration ... If you think this price is to much then it's better leaving right now.

We are being charged for helping other players. It's seriously not worth upgrading for if virtually all we do is sit in our respective forums and help people.

Um, those who got lifetime classic will always have it. I don't get your point. They are getting what was promised to them.

VIP is a thing of the past. Actually, VIP never happened. We never got to beta test v5, we never got any of the things we were SUPPOSED to get with VIP, and now it has turned into a Playerworlds Gold Subscription.

Sorry, but I highly doubt Graal is being hosted on 100 damn computers. Seriously.
