Oinkness: A History

Hey hey. I know there's not a lot of people who remember me, but here's a chance to see how I was waaay back when I was a newb, just like some of the people here today.

I started Graal in 2000, but I registered my pay account in 2001 I believe (after they created "pay to play" and such). Before too long, I was already making levels, and trying to create my own playerworld. Of course I don't have any of those levels left, but I was able to find some pictures left on the Graal forums of them, dating way back to 2001 even! I was amazed how much was still on here.

Since then, I've worked on a ton of projects. I probably had my hands on all of the classic playerworlds, with the exception of the newer ones, and Atlantis. I think my first LAT job was on Enigma, a fun little place. I went on to Sanstrata, which was also a cool little place. Eventually I got some pretty good experience, and started working at bigger projects. I've been pretty much everywhere over the years.

Here is some stuff I've collected from the forums that chronicles from 2001 until about 2003. The older ones have the old tileset, and newer ones have the *brand new* new tileset. It'll give you a little idea of my designing evolution! Unfortunately, I haven't made normal levels in a long time, so I don't have anything to compare them to... Interesting though, ain't it? Feel free to post your early levels, guys!

Wierd thing though is the first town made on Maloria v3 was named Faheria... I don't know if this was stolen per-say as if it was, that would be very stupid to name the town the server you (in the general sense) stole it from

Wow, some pretty nice stuff you guys posted. Cool to see your histories, especially Spark who started around the same time as a bunch of us yet mysteriously rose to Graal Supersquad.

As for Maloria and Faheria, I have no idea. I was head dev on Maloria during the time that CyberX was the owner. I think the tileset was different by then? The trees did look a bit too dark on that tileset, or the grass too light...

We are talking about Maloria 'v3' which wasn't even thought up until way after you had left.

Oh hell why not go back in time a bit.

These are from between 2001 to 2004. From my playing days from N-Pulse to the very end of Frolic.

Oink, do you read Harry Potter? Your thread title reminds me of that book, Hogwarts: A History.

The book is mentioned in like, almost every single one of the novels - but it seems to show up a lot in the first one.
