Account Sharing?

I don't know if the title is misleading, but I'll continue.

This isn't a place to discuss a ban, so I'll keep it hypothetical.

What would happen if person A (from now on we'll call Joe) gets jailed on his/her account, and then logs onto Person B's account (we'll call them Bob). In doing so, Bob is believed to be account sharing, so he is globally banned without investigation. Person C (we'll call Frank) knows Bob very well and doubts that Bob willingly gave his password to Joe, and has never seen Joe on Bob's account once until Joe was jailed, and isn't impressed on how the situation was handled. In conclusion, Bob gets globally banned, loses the money he used to upgrade their account, and Joe walks away from the situation unharmed, with no addition penalization for logging onto the other person's account.

My question is, is this fair? Shouldn't Joe be punished? If Frank is wrong and Joe and Bob shared the account, shouldn't both of them get punished for their actions? As it stands, Bob is the only one punished, and Joe gets off scott free. I think sentencing (if the other individual is known) should carry onto the other person. Input?

Read number 6, in the Graal Online User Agreement. Basically, whomever gave his/her password away is at fault.

Whenever an account is compromised or being shared the original owner can claim it by submitting a support ticket with the proper required information (ie: Transaction ID, Order ID, etc). The owner is told to change the password and once that is done the owner gets his/her account back. As for the other person being punished I am pretty sure that if the Account Support team found that the person using the account needed to be punished then it would be done.

Or a password change is forced.

Like Vulcan implied, these usually aren't permanent bans.

The part that bothers me is "without investigation". I do not ban for account sharing unless there is solid proof of it, and they are never permanent bans.

If Bob gave out his password, it is considered account sharing, and it is his first warning. If something like this happens again, it will be a longer ban. As of now, a first warning just means you need to show proof of ownership, and then your account is instantly unbanned and the password is changed.

If Joe somehow manages to get Bob's password by using a password stealer, Joe will be punished if we are able to find him and have solid proof of this.

Has this actually happened to you? If so, use the support center.

That fact that Joe bought the account for Bob gives him legal rights to it and allows him to come and go on it as he pleases. However the fact that Bob was using it gets it into Shared Account Ban territory. Joe's other account should not be touched due to issues with the account Bob was using.

the situation looks like this:
Joe buys this account for a good friend of his he's known for 2-3 years and buys this account as christmas present for him. he then thanks him so much and then joe also helps him get some items by giving him some tickets but not going on bob's account at all.
bob then gets jailed for a minor insodent and doesn't have time to use a trial account and so has no other options but to use a p2p account because he just has to play the monthly because of how big it is and Joe is hooked on graal so much and this so called big event that takes place every month is so important to him he just has to log on and so joe does,
Bob is with joe at the time and watches him win some matches ...
he then asks him how long joe will use his account and joe answers only 2 hours.
Bob then leaves and 10 or so minutes later "you have been disconnected from the game server -account sharing is not allowed -Ibo"

Bob then wakes up the next morning and has no idea what's happend and talks with Joe about the situation of how it accured and feels that it shouldn't of been permanently banned because he gave him permission and was with him at the time and that joe only tempererally used bob's new account for arround 1-2 hours.

Lets leave out the Joe and Bob bs and get straight to the point. account peekayed aka Scaler let Gunner use his account to play in a monthly tournement. It doesn't matter whether permission was given or not. Its still account sharing and a bannable offense. Ibonic checked the IP's. Two differant IP's were using the account. A full investigation was done. Gunner ending up in jail afterwards was an entirely differant matter all together. This is not the first time Gunner has been on this account. Nor will it be the last I'm sure. The rules regarding account sharing are clear.

Lol, I don't think Exodus owns an account. x-x
I've seen atleast three people using peekayed..

And banning without investigation!? UNHEARD OF!
Seriously, Graal should be sued for groundless bans.

It WAS investigated and I was sure I saw Exodus on it at some point but you're right. That accounts been around for a long time. Simple matter for those in the know to tell if its his or not. As far as I'm concerned its not a groundless ban and the rules should be modified so Gunner recieves punishment for his actions too instead of wiggling his way out of everything and leaving everyone else to take the heat alone.
