Complaint: Classic account posting

Okay, can we please have an explanation as to why classic accounts can now only post once every 24 hours? I thought we were supposed to get 3 posts a day, not only one. I don't mind being censored (though I think 5 posts is a more resonable number than 3) as long as the censorship is fair. Sure, one could argue that I could pay the 19 dollars and get another year of full access, but that's not worth it to me. If I was going to pay money for forum access, it would be the Something Awful forums (which are cheaper btw, I know VIP gives you more than forums though). If this was just a simple mistake than that's understandable, but please fix this error soon. It is annoying having to wait a whole day, and then only get to make one post.

Thanks,

Your friendly neighborhood Pickles.

Re: Matt, where did I say we should get 5-10 posts a day? I just want us to have the access we were supposedly given for christmas. Negative posts should be handled on a case by case basis, not in the immature way that unixmad is apparently handling things.

It's not an error, unixmad modified it due to "negative posts".

If Classic members were given the right to post 5-10 posts per day, they just might change their plans if they were gold to order Gold or VIP Membership.

Here's an idea that'll probably get shouted down. Dunno how possible it is anyway.

Because its not every classic account user who abused their rights to post here, maybe some kind of "ranking" system can be devised. This would allow gold and vip members to vote positively or negitivly on posts made by classic users. If a classic member recives many negs over all, the amount of posts they will be allowed to do per day drops untill they can't post no more. Same with positive votes except that user will be able to post more until a certain overall limit is reached... somewhere between 5 and 10 posts a day maybe.

Anyway, just an idea because its not fair that everyone is buggered because of only a few people.

It'd help if you could post 3 posts whenever and not wait 7 hours inbetween posts...

I like this idea. vBulletin has a user reputation system built in. Maybe modify it so the amount of posts you can post is based on your reputation, and only allow VIP/Gold to add/remove reputation.

It would be hard to communicate on a forum if we were only allowed 1 post a day and this is the comunication center...

So what are you saying??? That the classic accounts should be able to post in the Graal Main Fourm.. My self, I think that Classic Accounts should have there own little fourm, they can post in it, as well as us VIP/Gold memembers.

That's 'not' what im saying. I mean that these forums are a fun place to conversate with other people whom obviously play graal. Alot of people paid the money to recieve access to these forums, so why should classic members even be able to post?

Should classic users really be taking advantage of the Christmas gift? Now, a couple months away from Christmas...

What they could do is open a classic member forum, then all the classic peoples can post there and those of us who paid can post here. :-)

1) I dont think the "Christmas gift" was something that was going to be taken away after a certain amount of time, I could be wrong though.

2) If the classic members had their own part of the forums, what would be their incintive to upgrade(for those who mostly like to use the forums)?

I think them having very limited access is a good idea, just like trial accounts in game...makes you want more so you will upgrade, its just good business.

Certainly. I said I had no problem with having limited access. But, don't you think 1 post a day is a bit extreme? 3 posts a day is okay with me, but I would perfer 5. The current policy of 1 post is just a bit ridiculous and is just unixmad overreacting about a few negative posts.

See you in 24 hours *groan*

I think this must be the case as well

I can't stand being able to post once every 24 hours, although it hasn't gotten annoying enough yet for me to try and find a way to upgrade

also, could someone make a better error page?

I agree. Although I am a little bias. Then again, I sort of like it. It prevents the forums from becoming addictive, and I will be able to post information on a project when I am ready...I won't need more then 1 post to initiate the thread anyway.

I just like the fact that I can log into the forums now.

Its not like the forums are alive... there are barely any posts now compared to the past... I wonder why

More players play classic servers and use classic accounts, I don't see why we should disclude them from the forums. If you havent noticed a lot of old players have stopped by now too, so obviously the forums are not the reason why people upgrade. Even if I didn't play graal I would enjoy posting here time to time, but if I could only post one time every 24 hours I could barely even communicate with people. I thought 3-5 posts was fair, and I was fine with that... and it's not like anyone really did anything that bad. Just opinions that other people didnt like were said... I guess that's a big no no.

Its not like the classic accounts never paid for this game before. I think once you've paid once, you should be allowed some access to the forums. And I mean more then one post per day.

That is a good statement to look back onto. They paid once befor, and can still play the game, but not allowed to have any forum access? It is not like the forums are a "big" thing. Yes I would not know what to do without them, cause I log on them as soon as I make it home from school. But never mind that. So I agree with Maximus...You paid once befor, and you can play.. so you should have a little bit of forum access.

Bull****. It ****ing pisses people off when they're trials. I've never really seen somebody upgrade from a trial and play, they usually just buy it (recommended by a friend). Then again, I don't pay attention much so.

Oh I meant after the subscription expires they should have access. A little more the 3 posts a day. The forums are better when you have more people posting.
