Human or Bomy?

Help! I was just registered on Graal2001 (read: woohoo!) and am now at the race selection screen. I don't really know the pros and cons of each race (other than the Bomy Pearl Dive), and I really don't want to mess this up. Also, can I change races at whim? Any help is duly appreciated.

On a completely unrelated note, where is fishing located? I found the mining center, but didn't have enough cash. Then I found bird catching, and that looked too complex. Once again, help!

Humans cant birdcatch.. There is a fishing shop (skops) located south of harmonia.. harmonia is the big town/city to the east

There is also a shop (alohas) in the underground lake, to get there, go north of the unstick me house, get on the train tracks and go west over the water and down into the cave right offshore.. you need the draisine to ride the tracks.. the draisine is located north of the mining town sign in the cave. =)
