The New Magic System

First of all, I would like to say that I am glad the new Bomboria and the new magic system has been implemented. It's a good step for kingdoms. As I am sure many are well aware, the new system has taken away any sort of balance to the game. The new spells, while having awesome looking effects, are EXTREMELY overpowered. ONE single cast of lightning can drain my entire 431 HP. I don't believe that his was the intended effect of the new system... but in my opinion, something has to be done.

Someone level 61 phys shouldn't be able to be beat by someone level 14 magic. To be fair, the levels have to even out.

An even battle should be someone 30 phys and someone 30 magic, right now, all you need is level 10 magic and you can beat even someone level 107 phys.

The targetting system is a good idea. However, the whole server is totally imbalanced now.

Phys is now useless on GK.

Magic now owns everyone in a matter of a few minutes... and worse, if you get away from a particular person and their spell you still get effected by it because they have seemingly targeted you.

This "improvement" as it stands right now has effectively ruined GK for me and I know others.

This has nothing to do with saying that "magic is for newbs." It's about being fair and balanced...

I'll test out the damage later. I'm level 9 magic, so if I can school someone hardcore with a spell, then yeah, I'll agree with you guys. Magic should be powerful, but not so powerful you knock out someone 50 levels above you.

50 levels... well cubes killed me and he is level 15 magic... and I am 110... so that's... uh... *does the math* 95 levels above him???

Hey lylic, I agree its uber-unfair, but face it. EVERY level 110 has glitched there. Dont complain.

The magic needs nerfed, and flaming aura needs to be restored. Why does Leuc get an uber magic spell that is WORSE than flaming aura? Its ***. Balor is just the waste of a god now.

Magic didn't become "overpowered". It's just that magic resist now plays a bigger factor. If your magic resistance is -40, you're going to get owned.

50 magic resist and I still lose to someone whos 10 magic. I'm lvl 61 phys.

Not only does it do alot of damage but you can get out of it, lightning sticks you there, if it only hits you once you'll be fine but it keeps hitting you and you can't run out of it.

well that's definitely not the case, because i used a resist magic scroll to get my magic resist to 35... and I still got killing in one hit... make sure that you know what you are talking about before you say something stupid

Things that need to change:

Magic Damage either needs to be dumbed down, or armor needs to get resistances to different kinds of magic. Take your pick. The main complaint right now is that armor has been made useless due to magic and its potency. Don't nerf spells to do less damage than they usually did, though. The normal damage for magic was fine as it was.

What I said about magic resistance is true, but it doesn't seem that way because of, as Damix pointed out, multiple hits from spells.

I'm pissed about this stupid system, I cant log onto GK anymore cuz they disabled v2 and v4 does not work on my stupid computer, so i just wasted my fkin money on this stupid game 2 weeks ago to play when now i cant play. Bring back g4 or buy me a computer if you want me to keep paying for this stupid game.

I have 50 Resist cold, and one Ice storm took nearly 200 damage off me! This is redicolous. I can also take off 300 HP with just one cast of my Heavy Lightning rod.

what point are you trying to prove... because as you would know... I started to level phys after I got to 105 mental you idiot. I got to 110 by doing dust of visibility just like most others. And if alchemy is a glitch, then tell me (and everyone else) how that's a glitch??

And with regards to magic, I got hit with JUST ONE magic bullet with full HP (431) and 35 magic resist, and it still took off 152 HP... explain how multiple hits explains this?

The magic damage really evens things out. Armor class and Weapon class should have nothing to do with with magical damage in all truth. Why would I try to kill you with a spear if I know you did nothing but prep your armor class? There are a mountain of magical items that resist all kinds of things, like there always has been, now they are just a heck of a lot more valuable no? Doesn't matter how tough you are in phys, and it shouldn't because fire burns all flesh in the same manner, no matter the mass.

How does the magic damage even things out?? I had 35 magic resistance and Damix said he had 50... yet magic still murders us and we both have over 400 HP...

Plus, spells seem like they go on to infinity... I was killing lords and I got hurt by someones icestorm that was all the way at bomboria, and I was near the ogma altar... if magic resistances don't do anything, then take away magic users phys resistances and then people may realize what "fair" is...

I have 75 magic resist and it takes like 3-4 large lighting hits to kill me 2 if they are direct and im level 26 with low hp and 4 ac -_-. But yeah I owned lylic and about everyone else with the new lame ass system... The only person who is even a challenge is ED.... It needs to be a little stronger than it was before but this is way to strong I shouldnt have killed lylic with 1 large lightning and Ice storm can clear out about 5 people with 1 attack.

Some spells are too strong, like icestrom for example. Others needs a timelimit, like director, which can be used to bloc doors aso. Please post your experience about the spells in the bug forum.

No. I have 350 HP and +60 magic resist as well as resist to most elements, and 2 icestorms kill me.

I know that I, as well as many other players, will be through with this server if something isn't changed.

I love the new gfx's, i love the targetting system, i dont love the fact that magic "hit's" you, and that it does at least 20x the damage it previously did.

Wrong... damage repeats need to be toned down to prevent stun lock from happening. Damage should be done in lump sums instead of the repeats. This will also prevent spells from being totally negated by only ~70-75 resists. Also, damage should not stun a player if it didn't affect them.

Also.. director DOES have a time limit. It's just mine is very long due to my magic level.

Heh, shouldn't someone who can effortlessly hold 700+ KG's of armor, run at ( I'm estimating? ) 60+ Miles an hour whielding a indestructable/poisonous blue popsicle kill you in one it?

Something I've noticed and hope the staff does to, is that even people who are killing people with magic on a regular basis are still saying something needs to be done (Skyler, Cubes, etc.)

I just droped my Blue Dragon Ammulet which was restored to me by Stefan about a month ago after i dropped it from being pked. How did this happen? I had about 1k plat on me but people are constantly casting spells in bomboria. I got killed spawned in bomboria with 5 hp and 0 food, died a few more times trying to get away and when i looked in inventory to see if i had any plat left it was all gone along with my ammulet. How many times have i asked staff to fix the plat value on these ammulets? I dunno what happened to it if it was destroyed or picked up i have no idea. But its complete bs and im tired of having to worry about it. Now i am at a very high risk with this new spell system and the no food on restoration. And now i have to file a brand new support ticket to have this one restored. Maybe if Bjorn would have fixed it like STEFAN SAID this wouldnt have happened.

I like the new spell system , they are awesome , and I congrulate all staffs

1 )But like Deophite said about the restauration spell , food need to be re added.
2)The spell's dammage need to be fixed because the ac/wc , the physical level,good weapon and the preparing wont do anything and also all good items for the pking , like Ring of War, will lost their values . So you will only need a wand and 2 magic ring for play.
3)I noticed too , when you switch from P mode to B mode , you got a little gfx on your head , like me I got a skull head because I am in CP kingdom.I think its better if its deleted.The gfx will be annoying after a while for the pking , and all players know easy who are in B and P mode.

But without this 3 points , I still think the new spell system are awesome , the new Bomboria is very cool !

I don't agree with that: players can kill monsters to get food, you can also cook your dinner in farming house or build a cooker to do it in your house, or go and bake some bread. And if you are too lazy you can go in the Tavern and buy some nice meals from the friendly Misty Mug Crew!

Its an old sign from the early time of GK. I dislike that too. It dont matches to GK anymore.

I thought Stefan changed the arch of the amulet...

Edit: I just checked the archtype. It is fixed! The "startequip 1" was not in there anymore. It was only there on Debug and what on Debug is does not effect things on GK!

Well DC dropped an ammy yesterday or so I have heard....But seriously tone this down a bit it's not even fun to lame with because they dont have a chance... When I used to lame the trade people could run away. now if you get hit there is no point in trying to run becasue you cant
