my level?

ok i'm not the worlds greatest level designer

but how does this look?
in other words...rate my level

(yes i do see the errors on the cliff on the right side, they have been repaired)

It's an ok level. That black square in the cave entrance needs to go though. There's a tile that fits that perfectly, you just need to find it. Also, half grasses are ugly and are considered 'tile errors' to many people.

*farts* O_o 0/0 lol I kidding Im kidding lol 1.3/10 ummm you should learn how to connect trees...learn how to make your Water tiles,Cliffs,Paths (Which Im sure you dont the same way) Less straigt ahh what else....!!! Stuff Im sure someone will come along and completely insult you your help you out dont worry =D. I was gonna post a level I made today to O_o now I wasted my 8 hour post. I like looking at other peoples levels more than mine though.

and everyone says to connect the trees, i've done this before, but i don't like it, it looks fake, why do it? (i put in an npc to block people from walking up the middle)

Im gonna agree with Crono, 2/10. Looks like you right-click spammed the grass (by the position of the rocks and the grass), the trees don't look great the water parts could use work the cave entrance looks unnaturally square and the cliffs in general just don't look great.
You might want to try again. Sorry.

I like the way you shadowed the tree on the cliff, I don't care for your prefab trees that do not touch eachother, and the squared off mound of grass to the left of the map. The bridge is cool I like that.

So try combining those trees together and give the mound of grass more shape and curves and it will be a perfectly fine level. Possibly mix up the debree on the ground too

Why is this getting decent raitings? I could produce this in 5 minutes with the auto path tools.

Fails for not requiring any real knowlege of tilework.

Because you're an arrogant fool who's had a bit more experience than everyone else. Believe it or not, the good ratings are more for encouragement. You were once at this stage, so why don't you just stop being heartless to the new comers and actually encourage them?

Encouragement O_o thats like telling this guy he made a good level. 8/10 is somthing you get when the levels really good. If you wanna encourage him just tell him to keep working at it and he will get the hang of it. Cause a level of this quality doesnt deserve more than a 2/10.

No offence bud but your just new and still need to work at it.

Anyway you cut it, this level is bad. If you tell him he did a good job on it, why would he desire to change his style or improve at all? He would just continue to make levels similar to this.

Do you think I just became good? Did anyone here just wake up good at any area of development? I doubt it.

People told me my levels were bad. People told me they did not like them. People STILL tell me this. But, lucky for me, my brain is more developed than that of a 3 year old, and I reconize that they are saying this because there are things they believe I could improve on, not just because they are "arrogant fools".

So instead of treating someone like a complete ***** and telling them the rock they just found is gold, be honest so they know they have to improve.

I agree. I mean of course I was like lied to by wan and andrew when they would go "nice level crono ^_^" and it really sucked but I mean, you need to tell people the truth about their levels.

I was really commenting on the "I can make this in 5 minutes" sort of tone. It was nasty. Maybe tell him it was bad in a sort of encouraging sort of way, like "That level's pretty bad, but what can I expect, your new? Keep practicing, and oh, try this, blah blah blah blah.".

I personally wouldn't use ratings as a form of encouragement, but people don't know different. I was just saying it was encouragement.

Before you say "Why didn't you comment?". Because I had just woken up and read your post, I'll comment it now:

It's a bad level, yes, but I'm sure once you get a complete feel, and adapt to the current styles, then there's no doubt you'll get better.
