Horses and other pets

Please.get.rid.of.the.horses.and.pets.
Or limit them to only 1 per person.
They really serve no purpose and they are just annoying.
They also cause extreme lag when they are in the trading tables or in Bomboria.

Maybe make a house or something on main where you HAVE to put your pets/horses and delete the peg item.
I've tried ignoring it for months now but they've gotten on my last nerve. Also don't say I have a bad computer and that's why I lag. It doesn't matter what computer you have, if there are many horses in 1 place, you will lag :/

How about this - when someone enters a public house with a pet, that pet is moved away, in some kind of cache, same as with the quest-NPCs aboard a boat. When they leave, the pets follow again.

Yep yep...get rid of them.
I saw somebody bring 5 horses into the pub, put them all on pegs, and leave the pub. No, they didn't log off, they just left 5 horses on laggy pegs in the pub area...when I was about to go questing. You try scrolling through the quest list in that lag

The day after the horses were first released I notice a MAJOR increase in lag the world. The lag gose away when in a house... I suppose it's because of all the extra information being procesed by the pets wandering arnound. I would love to see them removed... entirly.

There have been multiple threads created concerning the pets, and none of them have helped. Just get used to the pets, and them ruining your game. The pets will never be removed, EVEN THOUGH everyone constantly complains.

Get rid of the 'plain' pets, and limit the horses.

DX is right...The only vaguely useful pets are horses, the others are just...pointless.
Satrek's idea is good though: use the same idea as with quest NPCs and warp the horses to some place when you enter a building with one following you, or ,if you ride in on one and then get off it, it warps there, then when you exit it comes out with you

Make pets useful, and restrict them in some ways - say they can't enter public buildings, and eggs can't be dropped there. If someone tries to enter, they vanish, and return once she leaves. Maybe add raised digestion rates in town-areas, too.

Hey yeah, like uhh....damn i can't recall the name of them. Those stable thingies at coach inns and stuff you used to get back in the days of highway robbery :O
You could make an extra building in each town and your horse would go there (and you could only enter there if your horse was in there, to prevent stealing) when you walk into a building. When you walk out of the building, you have to go to the town's stable thingy to pick up your horse!

And you must pay for your horse to be fed etc.

Monkey, Yoda, and Choupa pets should be removed. Horses should be made to where you can attack on them (maybe get a bonus for being mounted?), and so anyone else can attack them (bonus defense against normal melee and arrows, penalty vs pole weapons such as nagatanas or something).

Restricting them from entering buildings would be good. Even from entering houses, maybe make stables to store horses or something like that. Just random ideas that are coming to my head. I dont exactly figure how stables would work, or how hard it would be to make.

I dont believe horses should be removed. They should just be limited, and finished so they can be useful in battle.

Horse armour, variable horse-speed depending on what the horse is carrying, saddle bags, jousting, mounted archers, all that has been suggested since horses came out...
A for the other pets, give them something to do rather than removing them - like finding traps for you ore something.

Someone thought of an idea to get a stat bonus depending on the pet you get, that sounds good to me.

But "tweak" the system a bit to prevent abuse, Lets say having a monkey pet gives you a +6 stat bonus, Getting a second and the bonus is made +3 for each monkey owned, Get a third and the bonus is +2 each, Something like that.

But i'm just dreaming aren't i??? ha ha ha ha!

That'd encourage people to run around with EVEN MORE pets, and more people would do it, which is the problem with pets in the first place.

Where's the tweak in that - you'd get the same bonus no matter how many pets you have - besides, I believe there's nothing to justify a +6 stat bonus in a single item, be it pet, ring or armour.

i think the stable is a good idea, but no paying for your horse to be fed, you just shouldn't leave it for too long, the horses would be warped right when you enter town, and you don't even enter the building to get your horse back, you just knock on the door and poof your horse is there following you, you never get to enter for any reason (reson for that is to prevent "put a horse in there, then go in and steal all the horses")

oh and also there SHOULD be SOMETHING portable that can be used to tie down your horses and make it so only YOU can take them off of it, wich could be very usefull to prevent theft

Just some ideas

Yea, My idea isn't foolproof. But limiting pets isn't foolproof either, someone might log off, Then the pet wanders off, so they get a whole new pet and that's how all of this could have gotten started, Just drag all the pets to one spot and nuke them.

Make it some sort ot magic stable, where the horses go, and return the moment you leave the building/the town. If you log off inside, it will return when you come back - and let's just say they don't eat there, it would make things easier.

Right now all you can do is cast magic while mounted, I do it all the time. How else would I be able to be at the level I am now? It's also useful for when I'm helping someone else level!

your idea? Wasn't it me who suggested stat increase? Why yes..it was.

Also I suggested a +1 increase no matter how many you have with you and you can also only have 1 pet follwing you at a time.
