When will Random Alchemy Items be finally removed?
You said it nearly one year ago now.
So please finally remove it and fix the recipes =D.

I don't think they'll ever be removed.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! THE ALCHEMY ITEMS CAN SIMPLY BE REMOVED OR THE SERVER CAN BE RESET (to be more fair) AND THE PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN CAN BE IGNORED!

The fact is that a reset would be best for this issue. These are best choices in order from best to least:
1. Reset, and bring in a better system to create the alchemy equiptment which makes up the best items in the game
2. Simply reset
3. Add a good system to create alchemy equiptment
4. Bring back the old system
5. Delete alchemy items
6. Do absolutely nothing in this area, but instead keep adding things to the game without any care for the problems which exist within this seemingly forsaken game.

My suggestion:
1)Server is reset.
2)In order to do an alchemy recipe you must first read the book and learn it the same way you would a spell cept the book won't disappear. It would also be cool to say "/recipes" or so and see all the recipes you know and are capable of making.
3)Items like plain platemails, helmets etc are given away as tournament prizes and can then be used by players to make the alchemy items.

1. Yes!
2. Brilliant!
3. Bleh! Maybe it could be good! But not if the situation can work as such:
1. I win the first tournament after (after a server reset), where everyone has equal opportunities as long as they've been playing since the reset and win a VERY good armour.
2. I make my armour into some lightweight and great ac/armour item with alchemy.
3. I enter the next tournament and win a helm since I have the best armour, making it easy for me to win.
4. I use alchemy on the helm to make it just as great as the armour.
5. After each item, I can level up much easier, letting me surpass everyone in levels. I am now invincible. I am god to all.

That's the main problem I have with it. I much prefer event items being just for looks.

I don't have any random alchemy items and I'm happy. Playing GK - in my opinion, if I might be forgiven - is not about power, but fun and roleplaying (which can be one and the same), so these items don't disturb me in any way. And alchemy will be fixed.

It is planned to redo the recipes to use existing items as ingredients, so more items can be made. It's not easy to remove the old random alchemy items because they were traded several times.

That is what people do not understand...you say just "remove" the items, but you wouldn't be saying that if you traded 200 diamonds for mith and your 1337 weapon thingys for a FHoM.
You think it is fair to those people for them to just delete the items?

There is no "thinking" to be done about it, it would be unfair, that is the bottom line. Only people who don't have the alch items would "think its fair".

The unwritten laws of the world say such. I'm sorry for assuming the tournaments would be spars, but that's mostly what I've seen or heard of. The only other thing I can think of that I've seen being done is an RPing tournament where people had to act out some sort of scene and act like some kind of character.

The difference between my suggestions and yours is that you're asking for what we should be able to commonly and easily expect from a game without even having to mention it. In other words, you're asking for, what is sadly considered "too much" in the case of Graal. I'm asking for about 1/2 of that. Maybe we're both asking for "too much" though. It's probably all a matter of perspective anyways.

We've heard of these plans several times. It would be nice if something is at least started. Maybe start by giving back one item. We all know which one we'd like back the the best. So bring that one back. It's pointless to even name it. I dare not speak, write, or type its name at this moment. Bringing back its creation-possibility will even give the economy a little "spanking" for being bad. That's just IMHO.

If the problem with removing the items is because people believe they "worked" hard for their items because they paid so much plat or diamonds to have them, then there is no problem at all. The only people who actually "work" for their items are the ones who pay real money, such as USD, to have items on GK. That is their own anyways as it is advised and probaly even requested that we do not do so. Discussing a transaction is even banned from the community. People who play a game all day long and think they're "working" seriously must gain a sense of reality. Even those who get paid to do so are still simply playing (like athletes). If they are still fed up with this, then tough luck to them. They will complain. They will eventually stop complaining and continue playing or quit. More people will be able to come to the game since there will no longer be that major problem which causes an inbalance in the game. It's just a simple, quick, and easy way to fix everything. No work is involved. Just the hit of a button or two (resetting the server).

Paying real life money makes you a ***** rather than a hard working player (no offense intended towards anyone personally). What is work? You do something to get some reward - whether for money, or for items doesn't matter. If you're lucky, you get a job which you like, but does that mean you're having endless fun instead of working? Sure, GK is a game, but people invest time, and care for their character and it's achievements. I don't want to see months of that going down the gutter, mainly because doing it again won't be so much fun - and to me, no random alchemy item nor any stronger player ever ruined the game for me, I'm not a fighter and I don't duel, so why should I care? I can still farm, hunt, pray, and... most important... roleplay. Isn't that what it's all about?

I'm not a spammer. That post would have been a spam on my behalf if the part you quoted were the only thing I posted.

Satrek, Graal is a game. Games are about having fun. If you are not playing in order to have fun, that is not the fault of the game developers. They should be able to treat this as what it is-a game. If there is a problem preventing new people to come and have fun, or even current players, they should fix it. Such is the case now. The best thing to do is probably to go with Chris's idea, but be sure to keep corrupt people from making things go bad. Think about this...Chris wants a reset...Chris can easily PK most of the people who don't want a reset on GK, even a bunch of them at a time. If someone who can do that much wants a reset, there is obviously something wrong. Him and the other top players (who may be inactive at times or just don't play much anymore) are probably even bored and a reset would make them come back. A reset would bring back players, and gradually allow the playerbase to increase at a rate more than it can now. Stefan doesn't have to care about those players (who are usually ungratefull) who complain. Yet he seems to. What a nice guy....

A game is something you want to spend your time on, not waste it - as one could call leveling with the exp being forcefully removed later. A roleplaying game. Not a game to be the best, highest level pker. If it was the llater, a reset would balance the game for those who play now. But it isn't, and roleplaying has to do with the mental level of yourself, not your graal character, and stats have nothing to do with it.

Yes - too many pkers and not enough rpers - no offense intended, just a statement. But I wonder why one would want to pk everyone who has a different opinion on a subject, as you implicate.

If they are bored, they chould reset themselves. If they don't want to because then, they're too weak to kill others, maybe that's the reason they are bored.

Who decides who Stefan has to care about and who he can ignore? We all paid for it, our vote all has the same weight. And - if there was a reset, would 'you' be grateful, would you stop complaining? I doubt it - there is always something to complain about, as you can see here, whether it's justified or not.

On a side note: why not make the random alchemy items avaliable per normal alchemy? Make the required ingredients rare, add stat potions to the recipes, and everyone can make themselves miths - if they are willing and able to invest the proper ingredients.

Hell no.
That would be WAY too easy, everything has to be done the hard way.

Offense is taken. I was not accusing Chris of being a PKer to those with opposing opinions (though I would not frown upon him for doing so in this case, but rather turn my head as the people who oppose the opinion Chris and I take are simply turning their head from this matter themselves.); besides, my "beef" with Chris PKing has been discussed with him in the past and we came to an unstated agreement: agree to disagree on the matter. My comment was simply to show how people who want a reset have the most powerfull characters in the game. Also, you're getting off topic by talking about RPing. We're really discussing bringing back or taking alchemy items, especially by means of reset.

If the only, or even main problem with GK were that a few people are bored, then I wouldn't even bother to discuss this matter. Them resetting themselves is pointless. The challenge of starting independently is interesting and fun, but the truth is that it's near impossible to get alchemy items without having friends as all of those people do (then again, it brings up a question...if all the top players reset, does that mean no friends will be able to help eachother,as all the friends are likely the ones who reset? There's probably friends outside of that group of the highest-ranking players though. K, 'NUFF RAMBLIN').

I would agree were it some other type of game. Take a role-playing game as an example. Let's say you spend countless hours going through a game which takes at least 200 hours to complete. This means you'll spend about 400 hours to thoroughly play the game, gaining items, leveling up, getting special attacks. I know it would be horrible if you complete 90% of the game when your save game file is ruined.
Take a second example: There's RTS game you play online against a friend. You spend 3 hours building up your army and resources. Both of you then launch a massive attack against the other. Right when both frontlines are about to meet, something happens such as: your internet connection drops, you have a power outage, your computer crashes, etc.
Do you see the difference? These game's have ENDINGS that you missed. Still, it's not work, but you can feel sympathy for these people. Like let's say you need to clear your memory card which they are using to save their game, you can WAIT untill they're done with the game to do so. In Graal, there's no ending to wait for people to get to. People want to just NEVER have a reset. That will NOT work. And the more this is waited for, the worse it will be.

Our votes do NOT all have the same weight. This is not the United States of America, sir. This is Graal Online. I know if I were in charge of things, I would definitly take more consideration into the vote from someone such as DragonX before even bothering to read the opinion of people with names like SSJ4081Gohan, SSJ94812Gojeta, i0wnj00nubz, El33tPK0r, etc. This would be because they would all have similar characteristics; share Graal accounts, harass new players for no reason what-so-ever, flame Stefan (but usually not directly) and other Graal developers, say "graal sux", involved themselves in anti-Graal activities, show this hate for Graal simply because they can't/refuse to support Graal by paying this price of which is only about 1/3 or less of the price of other MMORPG's, are only about 10 years old, act like they're only 10 years old, think it's cool to refer to players who care about the problems of this game "nerds", think it's cool to replace full words with single letters, leave the game all the time and flame it, have someone else pay for their account by paying them with in-game money, etc.

I was just commenting your statement as far as Chris is concerned, I never claimed to know him (or you) well enough to judge any of you on that matter. But I do believe that GK is a roleplaying game. You're saying the game would be improved when these "uber" items were removed or the game would be reset in general to the same effect. I'm saying that this may be good for a mere hack'n'slash, but has no effect on rping, which is what the server should be about.

Why do you resort to alchemy items when the topic is to remove them? You can always start independently, level up, start from scratch, and nobody will keep you from it. You won't have a hard time if you go to pmode, and you still have all the possibilities the game offers, including rping and fighting.

Graal Kingdoms basically is a roleplaying game, with a little more fighting that others. And no roleplaying game has an actual ending. You can finish an adventure, or decide that your character is strong enough and you start a new one. But that doesn't require the others in your gtoup to do the same. It's virtually the same with GK.

I'm glad it's Graal and not the US, where 20% of the overall votes are enough to elect a president But besides, I don't think Stefan would make such a decision. It's a product he sells, and you can't do that by saying "you look sane, I will do what you say" or "you're a *****, bugger of." Certainly is DragonX likely to behave more civilised than L33TB0|\|g, but that does not make his vote worth more in economic terms. It just makes it more likely that what he says can be done, and what the other says can't. Still Stefan listens to everyone, which is probably why he is so busy, and I think it is good that he does, just in case I have a problem to report sometimes - I wouldn't want to hear that he didn't think me sane enough to care, even though he doesn't know me well enough to judge.
I, for one, never engaged in any anti-graal activity in any way, I think in a way I even did some good for those who care for classic, but I don't think it makes me special, the same as being mentaly underevolved as some on GK are doesn't make them lesser players.

Besides, some of those who do not want a reset have their reasons, too, as well as some of those who want a reset do not - I think "reset because everyone else is stronger" doesn't really count - every newbie is weaker then the rest when they start. I, for one, know that two other players and I would seriously think about leaving Graal in case of a reset, and I don't know anyone personally who would return.

You're asking for a different genre of a game (which is more like a sub-genre of MMORPG). The fact that leveling and collecting items is a MAJOR part of this game means that these items do create a big impact of unbalance. The game is NOT all about roleplaying. If it were, I wouldn't care since items would not matter. However, such is obviously not the case. If stats and items are going to matter, things should be balanced and fixed.

I was referring to offline single-player RPG's like most of the FF series. These kinds of games HAVE endings. There is only so much you can do. MMORPG's do NOT have endings. They are ment to be constantly added on to.

If you walk arround, buy and trade maps, then complete them with steadily increasing weaponary, then go to pk or duel other players for the sake of pking or duelling, then I believe that the major part of the game is fighting for you. But others spend their time farming, charming bomys, mining and roleplaying - those will certainly fight every now and then, even do maps, but it won't be the major part for them.
If fighting really was major, you wouldn't be able to advance without it. But you can. The only unbalance is that there are (at first glance) more options of fighting than doing anything else, but as said before, it's what you make of it. That's the trick with roleplaying.

That IS a major part of the game. If you havn't noticed, it's all some people do. I for one prefer to do everything. I breed horses. I farm. I bake. I fish. I level up. I collect items. I trade items with players. I buy items from stores. I pray. I kill bosess. I RP (I'm IC and on kingdom tag most of the time).

Some people spend their whole lives persuing the all-powerful dollar. Others spend their lives persuing love. Still others persue fun and excitement. Yet others persue things such as illegal drugs.

Who's to say that any of these things is inherently a major part of life, just because some people do them all the time?

;P ofcourse, there are judges... it's easy to escape strangling if you were a barb by using force, and some mage could cast magic bulllet backwards or something.

Where in all this (except boss killing) do random alchemy items cause any unbalance?

First, people can be VERY faster than others with those alchemy items. This effects EVERYTHING. Then there's the parts of leveling up, collecting items, buying items from stores, kingdom wars which are a part of RPing, and trading items with players. Alchemy items effect ALL of those parts of the game. You can fight easier with them. Those who fight easily make money the easiest. With money, you can easily buy items from stores. You can also collect and buy items to trade with players. And in kingdom wars, the people with the best items will fight better. Some may say that kingdom wars should be based on RPing only, but I think the players should evolve beyond such a necessity and be able to simply fight their best in battles, and not come back into the same battle after being defeated.

Speed doesn't affect farming, baking, shopping, and rping. Speed doesn't helm much against monsters either, I have no alchemy items and my speed is sufficient to go against anything avaliable - if served in small portions, I couldn't stand 20 demons .
As for RP-Wars - I don't say that they should be based on rping, because they will never be - they should, though, at least contain a part of rping. My point here would be that there hasn't been a proper rp-war in ages - and a proper one lasts for at least days, with enough battles, spying and such for everyone in every timezone. I agree that defeated players shouldn't be able to return - suggested a war-system with battles and effects of dieing in one a few times, but that's beside the point.
The point is that alchemy items only affect a small part of what you can do on GK, taking into account that rping is what the server is focused on. And I say that you can make a living without them, as it is now - and without pking and duelling. Some actually do.
