Well... For many things you can buy you need thousands of plat... but I'm not even able to collect 100! How to get plat? What am I doing wrong? Do I really have to collect things and sell them?

Woodsman skill is good.
Lets you ID food and sell it for much higher prices.
Especially good for hearts and livers.
With that skill and the ability to kill heavils etc with ease you can make money quite easily.

How did you get the maoney? As I already said I'm not able to collect 100 plat... I have 18! The only way I know is selling items (but the most items are worth some gold or 1 plat).

No, he's not. They changed the system .. it's not as easy to get hearts and livers (or ectos for that matter) as it used to be. Oh, and monsters pick up items now, as well. Obviously, they're trying to balance things. Trying to make it more difficult to get 30,000 platinum coins worth of items with relative ease.. ..it's a start.

No, you can still make 1000-2000 per hour selling parts. But you need to level up first. So many imaptient people massing "How can I make money super fast oh btw I am a level 1?"!

Yes it's better to level up first, picking up items like mushrooms, mandrake roots, livers and hearts, identifiying them and then selling them.
