Just because he posts on this forum doesnt mean he wants it. The forums description reads:

he is doing so... or is that just me.... ::sarcasm::

Amon-ra, those are beautiful pieces of work. It is very impressive you learned Trigonometry like that. Im very impressed!

I still dont see what the fuss is about. You elite scripters should get together and make some small 3D test world offline then try to port it online. Why? BECAUSE GREAT MINDS WORK GREAT TOGETHER @#(*@(

So how exactly am I expected to discern what he wants when he hasn't explicitly stated it?

Riiight. The implication in my post was 'Speak for yourself, not for others'.

Kaimetsu and I are two different people who posted two different replies to your post. I fail to see how that makes he and I a 'team'. Shall you, then, by the same logic assign 'teams' to every other thread here...?

While your post may make sense to you, I can safely wager that the rest of us have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Edit: I take that back. Refer to Kaimetsu's reply.

You inferred it. But incorrectly. Of course he hopes that we like them, but that's not the same as asking for praise and it's certainly not the same as declaring that criticism is unwelcome.

Yeah "its implied"... my bad!
It sounds like to me he was getting at that he doesnt want to hear about you guys saying your able to do better, blah...
This forum isnt described as "post a script and let scripters tell you how they beat you with another one, or can make better!!"

@Lance
I meant double team as in to Amon-Ra not me.

If you think you've deciphered a hidden meaning in what someone else says, you have inferred. As Kaimetsu said, that does not necessarily mean that you have correctly identified something.
If you have placed a hidden meaning in something you have said, it is implied.

Take the time to read the thread, and you'll discover that you are quite incorrect.

I don't think anybody actually declared that they could. But if it's okay to invent ludicrous implications just to support our points then how about this one: It sounded to me like he was saying he didn't want you to post and, in fact, he wanted you to drown yourself in a bowl of cereal.

I dunno, maybe it's just me. *SARCASM LOL*

Lance if you read the posts that my comments are related to you might get it... your lost... <not to be an offensive comment, just seriously. I was answering or correcting what you said and you didnt follow it. By the way, also infer from something that is implied... what I said makes perfect sense, maybe not to you, but its English.

Lets ask him of course...What was he meaning? But sounded like to me he didnt want peoples two cents about who can do better. From what he said, and I did read it all, thanks for trying to tell me I havent read it. Im on his side for his comments.

What would be the point? The concepts 'Amon-Ra's intended meaning' and 'the meaning of the words Amon-Ra said' are not identical.

Nobody is perfect at how to say something correctly how they intended for it to be understood, all the time.

Since he said it... it would be quite logical to ask him to clear up what he was meaning...

Neither your original statement nor your correction are coherent. Fix them, and cease your childish behavior. You directed at me a statement which said that Kaimetsu and I were 'double teaming' someone. At first, I thought you were citing yourself as the target as a continuation of your pathetic "The evil scripters are out to get me!" attitude. Then, you corrected it to say that this 'double team' of Kai and myself was directed at Amon-Ra, which is obviously incorrect. Like I said, I said nothing against Amon-Ra in this whole thread.

My suggested course of action to you is as follows: Exit forums -> Practice literacy -> Become coherent -> Compose a valid point -> Return to forums.

Quote:

Except that you said "I implied", when you were referring to something that Amon-Ra said. Whatever, though.

Lance, ok dad... or god... im confused on who you think you
are.
Didnt even feel like reading all of that but you seemed to patronize me about it. What I said... makes sense. I said maybe it doesnt make sense to you but I cant help that. If you want me to break it down a lot for you I can, it would be of no trouble, but that could hurt your pride couldnt it! I might do it for you anyways if you still dont get it. But since your the master of everything and know everything and your always right and you have "special" privilege to tell people your opinion and they must abide by it because its your opinion its always right or else they are a "retarded", "inferior","wrong","invalid", etc.,. ... err... not.

I also notice you take every chance to attack people you get, i dunno if thats more childish than me siding with the thread starters opinion or not? Because thats all I did and you come and have your flames ready. Childish,... is that you being a Hypocrite? Why yes it is! Wow.

1) I explained why it doesn't
2) You choose to spout more rhetoric rather than actually respond to my points

Quote:

No, you still aren't reading, or aren't thinking, or aren't I don't know what but you're most certainly not paying attention. I said your behavior was childish. That has nothing to do with 'who you sided with'.

Quote:
Because thats all I did and you come and have your flames ready. Childish,... is that you being a Hypocrite? Why yes it is! Wow.
No, you continue to spout your pathetic "Everyone is out to get me, I am right, you are wrong, the evil scripters are plotting against me" rhetoric and it grows tiresome.

Also, when one applies a label, one should really offer some sort of valid reasoning behind it. Unfortunately, you are dearly lacking in that department...

Yes. Which is basically a poorly-articulated version of what I said.

No, not logical at all. What he intended to say is immaterial if we are judging conclusions I made based on what he did say.

It is logical because he is the one who said it. I never meant to judge your conclusion of what you think he said, I was telling you what I thought he meant and didnt want. Its like you interpreting one way and I another. Its not a big deal really to have him clear it up, if im wrong, im wrong, if im right, im right. Thats the fun of interpretations... its just I think he didnt want to have everyone jump on it and tell him we can all do better. Even if its true or not. and you think otherwise which is cool, your own free mind and opinion.

Its poorly articulated but its easier to read? I dunno I guess I needed to write it differently

Let me make this simpler for you.

You have been arguing against my decision to post criticism in the thread by claiming that it's not what he wanted. I can only base such decisions on the information I have and the interpretations I make from that. Now, whether or not I reach an accurate approximation of his feelings is not solely based on my own skills. If he presents himself poorly then, however good my interpretative abilities, I will not be able to extract the intended meaning.

My argument, then, is this: Even if he didn't want criticism, there was no way for me to know it because he didn't voice it in the original post and thus I am exempt from whatever blame you're trying to place on me. This is true regardless of whatever he may say from here onwards.

No. It's poorly articulated and equally easy to read. The difficulty comes when we attempt to translate your words to english.

Hmm.. I didnt like how its so off-topic =P

The idea of this post was teach some 3D things, and we people show our 3D works.
I didnt post or I said anything for someone in special.. I hope you all like what I made.. couse I never really like what I do, thats good couse we always think that we can make something better, thats how I learn.. I believe when you dont have envy, and you think that you´re the best in something you stop learning, since you think you learned enought.
I really didnt understand what you people mean with alot of things here =P Thats couse my english sucks.. I have to tranlate in my head everything and some things dont make me sence.

About Kai, sure I like ideas and opinions. I just dont like how you point all posts to you. We could just talk about the topic, and stop talking about you or me, or someone else, or skills. The topic is about 3D, I would like to have a better English to explain better the 3D world, so more people could join it, and post here their works. Thats the reason I tryed to explain in that little tutorial. I think what we are doing is great for Graal3D.. It will be a big step changing the whole way we saw graal all this years, posting about 3D we make more people like it, like I do.

(Not talking about Kai anymore, I have to explain.. lol)
Criticism is always welcome, but say something that you people really think, and not to show yourselves. =)

Maybe you people could try to make some changes in the star script I posted and show here, some ideas.. Each star one color.. and going to the mouse position, not the Lens, would be nice

Right, but:

1) You're not actually accelerating the script in the normal sense. Doubling up the world manipulation doesn't serve any useful purpose.
2) You don't have control over when those extra events are triggered, so it's not a matter of 'when needed'.
3) You can produce the same effect anyway simply by putting a little loop around the bulk of the timeout code.

I'm not going to let you maintain the pretense that your creations are new or original if you're actually taking credit that rightfully belongs to me. And if people choose to respond to my comments instead of yours then that's not my fault either. I don't think you have a right to accuse me of being egocentric when you're here whining because you're not getting enough praise.

A rotating sphere, with a light source whose position is determined by that of the mouse. Yeah.

And what is wrong with it? I would like to script something like that if i could and obviously wouldn't be just for the fact that you or anyone else made it once, it would be for the fact that i wanted to improve my abilities and/or help people, like Amon-Ra did.

Kai, scripts can look similar, but from what I know you made, (meaning I havent seen your script for it), its probably not a copy of yours. Its too much extra to be just yours. He probably scripted it using the way you did. There isnt always many ways to script something.

Lance, you have a narrowed vision on how to read things if you cant understand what my point is/was. It makes/made perfect sense and like I also said, the reason it didnt make sense to you is probably because you didnt follow it or understand it. Thats not a bad thing but when you tell me continue to tell me Im wrong when you dont even understand it to begin with, which you clearly have been lost for several posts, you start to get obnoxiusly arrogant telling me "point invalid, blah, blah". I didnt read the ramble because it was remarkable irrelevant and filled with old and overused lame flaming tactics which I wasnt here to do.

Funny how your name conatains the word "Illusion" when you like to create meanings in people's words that don't exist... He meant the effect, not the script.

most scripters I know would rather actually learn from this than simply bask in it's niftyness.

I'd rather see someone make a 3d model script that is manipulated as if you were within the same world as the model. More like an actual 3d gaming engine. Instead of directly affecting the rotation axis, affect the position of the camera. It's much less clumsy and really not that much more work.

That is a farily good tutorial, I must say. It cleared a few things up for me. Enough to where I could make a simple 3d model script now, but I'd rather do more things than what has already been done (I am not trying to criticize anyone).

You know what? Either you have a valid point that you can justify, or you don't. Rambling about how "I don't understand you" after you make a vague, incomprehensible statement gets you nowhere other than strengthening the idea that you do not, indeed, have a valid point.

Which you weren't here to do what? I'll ask you again: please become coherent.

Once again, what makes you the judge of whether my point is coherent? Just because YOU dont understand it, doesnt invalidate it.
Once again, and also the last time Im saying this, you obviously didnt follow the posting because it is coherent... so stop trying.

You continue to fail to justify your point. If it was coherent (and valid) you could very easily justify it. However, instead of doing so, you choose to continue to sling baseless statements and accusations at others. Sigh.

...You have no idea what script of Kai's we are talking about do you? that's too bad, I was hoping you might have some sort of base for your presumption. Your little rants are getting quite annoying, please take it to pms next time.

The idea is copied. I'm not accusing him of stealing code, I was merely noting that he produced an effect almost identical to one of mine.

Its coherent to begin with. Just because you dont understand it doesnt mean I have to go and make it ok for you. As you said... your just Lance. Your not special enough for me to go back and reexplain, specially for you.

Oh ok, is it just the sphere or is it all of it? I only knew of the sphere idea?
