OK, For Serious This Time

Hello all, I realize I have posted this before, but I am still in search of a partner who fits what I need...

I have been playing Graal for about 4 years now, and I think I finally want to try making a server. Over the years, i have held many positions in all sorts of servers, i have observed patterns, ideas, and systems that have worked, and failed.

First ill tell you a little about my vision...

Well there will be 3 kingdoms and 5 classes (Archer, Warrior, Mage, Ice Mage, Fire Mage)....I'm just kidding, i wouldn't do that to you

In all seriousness, I am looking for someone to be a Manager/Co-Manager. I need someone with experience, ideas, and talent. If you are interested please IM me on my AIM which is: Lightmeondwyer

The Job will entail:

* Ability to Write Well
* Lots of Ideas
* A Detailed History of Past Experiences
* A Willingness to Help
# Any extra abilities such as Scripting or Level Making are welcome

also, here is some information about me (this came up last time I posted this about..6 months ago, with no one capable)

Ability to Write Well - I feel my writing level is par, if not above average, I have written design documents in the past, and that is my plan for this server. I/We will write a highly detailed design document, then carry out the developing with much help from other staff members.

Lots of Ideas - I have played numerous amounts of games/server/playerworlds to gather ideas that work. But, i also have many ideas that i believe are creative, unique, and workable. Soul Blade hired me for his Ideas Team for Shifting Ages until i had to quit because of other commitments.

A Detailed History of Past Experiences - OK, this ones a bit of a toughy.

I believe my first ever staff job was Coasta De Agua. While it was a sub-par server, i gained much knowledge on how NOT to run a server there. I learned much about staff organization and what qualities make or break a server.

I have also been accepted to maybe about 10 servers because of my Graphics work. I had no interest in any of these servers, so i have never held a graphics job for more than a couple of months.

I have also held ET jobs on servers (2k1, others that didnt make it).

A Willingness to Help - I am tired of servers either being dependent on guns or kingdoms or jobs or money. That is my willingness. I want to see a new kind of server. While i do realize that these projects take time and effort, I want to take a shot at this, success or fail.

EDIT: I have chosen the code name of GraalGear, the reason for this name will be revealed once more information about the server is unravelled (sp?)

Somehow i think your forum title "I am Graalian no more" will discourage people from believing you're committed to this as much as you say you are.

We have plenty of "good" servers... Hell we even have an abundance of 'AMAZING' servers... We just need ones that aren't compulsive liars as well and we'll be all set.

Un is just horrible, Npulse is crap, and Maloria lives up to it's name and has since 2002. (To me and some others, Maloria=Malaria=disease=sucks, therefor Maloria=Sucks)

You say UN is horrible yet it still has the highest playercount on the list....so apparently a lot of people like it. And that is because it has a good community and lots of quests.

UN is good for PKing. That is the reason I go. Also, some of the events can be fun.

The forum title "I am Graalian no more" comes from the loads of crap (can i say that?) servers there are right now, and the lack of originality or creativity or any good -ty's for that matter

EDIT: I'm Graalian no more, because i can't stand today's servers with the same quests, and the same graphics and the same tileset. When will we see a server with a different approach? I plan to create a server that parallels what Oasis/Shifting Ages are, servers that are different in a good way.

2k2 IMO is a 2d rip off of diablo where you have to do everything yourself.

After completing the first couple of quests, i expected i would have to plant cotton, then make myself a cotton gin, then find plants and crush them for dye, and then meld myself a sewing needle...all to change my shirts color

Wrong. It's a rip off of another MMORPG that starts with R. You know, where they also stole the idea to have this hat system (sakkat? bunny band? :/)

Explain why Npulse would be the best server.

UN only has so many because of it's very easy quests, so many hearts/swords, and the fact that ****s go there first. They get attracted to it's name. In reality the server is utter crap.

The levels are outdated and ugly (classic beats un's levels), some of the staff are retarded, 1/4 of the people who actually aren't newbies have huge egos and look down on anyone without 10k kills.

Every server is the same as the next one, except with different quests and layout. I'm suprised nobody has really pushed the graal engine to it's limits even after such a long time of it being around.

Each to there own, but N-Pulse has the best community I think. N-Pulse, 2K1 and Divided Kingdoms were the only ones worth playing..

Things like Era are just filled with mofos who crack off. It's totaly lost the graal feel. Same with all these other modern server - _ -
