Quiting Classic

This is in reference to classic:

As most of you all know, the LAT is going through some hell. You can see a little of how it is on the LAT forums:
http://kinolat.proboards3.com/index.cgi

Because of all this I am gonna quit LAT and work on my own server some more. I am tired of being acused of being a child when me and raymond are being the most mature here. I mean yes, Kino is not being immature but still, he isn't handling this right. Urban wants the server how HE wants it. I mean I do like that he is being democratic. But still, it takes alot out of everyone to MAKE him be democratic... And I can not be with someone who always pulls a power trip on me by doing things like try to prove how better he is because he is higher then me.

The 2 days that I was LAT Asst. I TRIED to get things going but Kino would ignored all my PMs and all the other staff wouldn't give me my rights either. But Kino was easly convised because Urban whined enough to take the job from me. I am obvously more qualified in the job as I have alot more experiance in management type position and am MUCH more skilled in scripting then him. Urban tried this same bs on my server, Gileada, and a few other servers I worked at too. He had a position and sucked up to me or other people in Admin-like positions and when they did not look where total *******s to them and others. Of course I saw past this and didn't give him the higher jobs because I suspected something. Sure enough he tries it here on classic and does JUST what I expected.

What ever, I am gonna take a break from LAT. I will upload what is on my computer then leave indefinitly. I most likely will be back, but don't expect it to be anytime soon. Things need to change around here...

lmao... now you know why I left. Classic is basically going to die. It seems inevitable. You just can't find someone who is willing or has the time to convert all of the bs that exists there. Having to even worry about getting all of the stuff converted is just too much.

Anyway, I don't blame you for leaving and working more on another server. I've done the same thing. :P

Classic has tons of levels though, it would definetely be a pain to go through it all. If you could edit scripts through the debugger it could make it slightly faster, but that isn't whats being discussed here.

Seems like just about any and everyone is a LAT on Graal: The Adventure/Classic now a days. Personally I believe a new manage/ LAT admin/whatever should be appointed by someone like Angel or Stefan.

On Classic, LAT consists of people who do graphics, levels and scripting? Also, isn't Thym current manager and who is/was former LAT Administrator?

Yes, and only about one graphics guy is even needed and there's around 200 uneccessary people in each divison that I personally don't even see fit for the job.

Tyhm is the manager/lat admin guy but he hires an assistant or an lat admin (and calls himself manager naturally if it is that way, meh either way doesn't matter) and let them do the co-ordinating and moderation or so.

Classic has been dead for 2 years now in my opinion. Right after full P2P it dropped down.

Obviously. Try measuring it in proportion to other PWs though ;x It isn't really dead but it should have a consistantly larger playerbase.

okay...... let me set this straight we only have 7 LATs that i know of. The current Manager is Tyhm who doesnt do **** and hasn't even been on the server since Kat was made Assistant Manager and quit. Kino doesn't even have uploading rights, so yea. What do you expect. Tyhm wants to remain manager but doesnt do anything to help, Angel hasn't played classic for anything but to find Rone so she could ban him. Stefan is Stefan, busy on everything in the Gold lol, and Zone. Graal the Adventure is simply ran without care. I mean look. The Manager doesnt care. He should either be manager of the server hes in charge of or quit GM. but he wont. MORE POWER TO TYHM!!!!!! wow. What a waste of dedication that Stefan put into creating Graal, the playerworld that started it all has a manager who isnt willing to do squat for the Tyhm, and you blame us Staff? wow. Thanks alot.

Shut it, stop flaming Tyhm. Tyhm doesn't neccessarily not care but may have far more greater priorities to worry about Graal wise, ever thought about that? Have some bloody consideration for what he does. You can't expect him to put 100% into this one server. He appointed an assistant or so for a reason.

I recall a graal to nw converter being made. convert all the levels to nw, then have a program run through and change all the links to .nw in all the nw levels (search LINK then nearest .graal)

After that, a lot of the npcs would be missing clientside. search NPC and find the whatever so space and have the program insert //#CLIENTSIDE into the script. (if it already has it, having it twice doesnt hurt)

It doesnt seem like it would take patience to make it compatible with an npc server, just a good algorithim. All the programming thus after could me made based around the npc server. The npcs on the server that need to be serverside could be changed back to serverside, but probably more likely, most of the npcs in the levels need to be clientside, so it makes more sense to convert them all to clientside first using an automated process.

Making everything clientside would just make things more confusing than they are... believe me, I've had to put up with the extra bs that com's script converter did in plenty of levels... I'd probably have done all of mapped Graal right now if it hadn't uglified things so much.

No...

Right now the scripts are Offline compatable...

There is a difference. Clientside can't use playersays and a few other commands.

The problem is that NPCs on an NPC Server that are manipulated clientside are... just that... CLIENTSIDE. The changes aren't sent to anyone else like they are without an NPC Server. Any movement, image changing, or interaction whatsoever cannot be done on an NPC Server... clientside. Well, save[] vars still work as far as I know, but big deal, without the rest working, they're useless.

wtf Classic is dead? On most the afternoons Classic is the 4th server to UN, Era, and Val. and sometimes above Val. We can't grow because all the newbies goto the server on the top and stay there because they don't know any better. So we just have usually same ammount of players, same people. We rarely get new players we just have a good ammount of dedication to a playerworld that made this game what it is, because without the playerworld sitting there, there would be no Graal. Mmk?

so. I end this with..............

these chicks dont even know the name of my band, but they're all on me like they wanna hold hands. cause once i blow they know that i'll be the man. and its all because i'm the lead singer of my band

Enigma was good because it was very good, and had a lot of potential... Unfortunately the management and development took the potential in the wrong direction, or at least in my opinion.
