New Servers

The new Graal version (v2.22 and v3.04) is released, you can see a new tab on the serverlist where you see under-construction servers which want to show the levels to players. Those servers are still vip/gold only and are only visible to those.

There is also a new public server: Zone - with futuristic team-battles.

All changes in the new version:
- the script command showani works better on stats layer:
the body image is drawn correctly
- new script variable 'gravity': when you change that variable then the behaviour of projectiles changes - by default the z attribute of a projectile is decreased by 2 each second (0.1 each frame); if you increase the gravity, then the arrows fall down faster, if you decrease the gravity then arrows fly longer; if you decrease the gravity and shoot it in a low angle (between 0 and 0.5) you can easier simulate pistoles or guns;
don't forget to change the gravity variable on both client and server side
- new scripting variable 'downloadsize': when the graal client is currently downloading a big file (>32k) then this variable contains the size of the file; using downloadpos, downloadsize and #D you can check if a file is currently downloaded can display a process bar or similar

In v3:
- the window is resizable
- when moving the mouse outside the window then the in-game cursor disappears, and you can see the standard mouse when moving the mouse over the caption and borders
- added horsestill.gani to the installer so that horses appear (linux and mac versions)
- the player movement uses the classic onwall check so that v3 users don't have disadvantages on playerworlds (on previous v3 releases there was a more precise block check)

Is there any way for you to make the window contents update as it's being resized like it does now? It's a bit awkward the way it is now. Still, even if it's not, at least you got the resizing in.

Everything is coming along great. I will still use v2.22 though until v3 has a nice working playerlist. That's the only thing I really dislike x.x

Same for me.. I double click v3 and I hear the computer like loading it up and all then nothing. Waited a little bit and nothing. Tried again and nothing. So I checked which programs were running and it had v3 opened and running twice but I did not see it anywhere running on my comupter. I closed the two with ctrl alt delete and that was the last time I tried to use v3.(Running Windows XP Pro)

The server's scripts are pretty creative. I just don't like the player's bodies.

Try to open it in commando line.
It will work than.
Start->execute->cmd
than go into graal folder with cd stuff
and open graal

I need v. 2.21 -3.0 to play GK.. But all other servers are fine.. Make it work for GK

v3 started for me, it just took a while

I updated to the latest 2.2.2 revision or whatever, and now whenever connecting to GK I always get "Connection failed. You need graal version graal 2.21 + 3.0 to play on this server. Update open serverlist" and that's it. Installed version 3 from the setup program, and all it does is crash and give me windows error reporting, for whichever version I chose....

For those who experience graal taking forever to load, wait 5-10 minutes. This is nothing new to me, everyday, no matter how many times I open graal, it will ALWAYS take 5-10 minutes for me. Both versions of Graal. So yeah, have patience.

It's your windows then though x-x Possibly turn off file indexing
When v3 is not starting then please post your console.log which should be in the Graal folder (if possible on the bugs forum)

I'll get you the console.log when I get home this evening.

I don't know about my operating system having anything to do with a problem in connecting to the game with 2.2.2, because I set it for 2.2.1 in the setup.exe, and I was able to log on again for the evening.

I suppose I will check that as well, just for giggles.

My version 2.2.2 or whatever it is, it loads up in like 2 min when I first try to open graal after I start up my comp. But after that it loads just fine. V3 loads just fine for me as well though I don't like it at all. Anyways great job Stefan and keep up the work.

That's what happened to me with the last version, but now, it doesn't even do anything except show the loading cursor icon for a few seconds and stops.

Something i think should be added to both versions:

Remember the window size and position on exit.

I mean, just have it write it into the options file or something when you exit.

Also - could somebody explain how to script it? I want to change the player list because i think it's ugly with the green text and hard to read, but i can only customize the connect screen and the button edges so far...

Mine works and I have my file indexing turned off already. I am on Win XP home

I have a few questions.


- Will graalv3 have major new features, such as a new tab or something like that?

- I heard Graal3d is an add-on to graal kingdoms, how does that work? It would have to be another server if both versions can be done, wouldn't it?
And is it a seperate DL?

If you mean a new playerworld tab, the current graal 2.* has one.
