Driving me insane

Im having a small problem with the client and RC.

I am on my computer almost 7 hours a day, and I never have any problems. But as you may have known, I am a scripter, and I need to do so to keep my job.

Everytime I open the editor in the client or RC, I can script for about 2-3 minutes, before my computer freezes and I lose everything I have worked on. In the last two days alone, I have counted and froze up 27 times. I have not once froze up not using the editors. I want to know how I can fix a problem like this. I am starting to get bothered that I can no longer do my work.

It could possibly be a problem with my computer, but this has been happening for a while(a few weeks), and ONLY when the editors are open.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hm, your computer just freezes and you cannot move your mouse or anything, no error message of somesort?

Also, have you installed any programs recently that you haven't used in the past?

Half the time it just freezes, the other half it just screws up so my mouse moves VERY SLOWLY and I cannot do anything except move my mouse around. I tried to sit it out for like half an hour once, but I got sick of it and turned off my computer.

I haven't installed anything new lately, other then the new RC.

start>control panels>administrative tools (assuming you're on XP)>Event viewer

see what error you get, that makes your computer wave, and then freeze.

A long time ago(Nearly a year now, I believe), I used kazaa. I downloaded a virus which deleted like 80% of the files off my computer. I had to go on my brothers computer and burn a copy of AOL to install back on this computer. The only thing was I lost alot of things that came with the computer (Even MSPaint). But I never used the restart CD because I have ALOT of files I need. I don't have any administrative tools at all, any other suggestions ?

I have 40 gigs of stuff I need. I have a 4x speed cd reader/writer. I do not have the money/time/patience for that. I am contemplating just killing everything and restarting over, but their is alot of stuff I really need.

Don't forget to format or it's really not very effective at all
