Isn't it boring how no kingdom ever gets destroyed any more? I say we create a militia Army, and destroy a few kingdoms, just for the heck of it...

In my opinion, and missing a proper definition of "destroying" here, I think two additions can improve the situation: a war-system, which forces players who have been killed on the battlefield into p-mode until the resolve of the war, and forts which, created along the shores of the kingdoms or on islands arround them can be taken by enemy forces, have capabilities to house soldiers and maybe even magical protections charged by priests and mages - as, I think, has been promised a while back.

Zormites are too much of Zealots...

Dustarians are Paper Tigers. We conquer them to conquer the Zormites after we coax Forest to fight for us.
Then we start a secret war between Samurai and Forest and let them exhaust their resources...

Then we Take out Forest because they're the stronger of the two and then we take Samurai.

You guys be crazy

And like, we do have wills of iron but we don't have arms of iron anymore. Dustari is like way stronger than us, and we're a peaceful nation anyway X_X

We still have some strengths hidden away though, so :P

Zormites have never had arms of iron... We just had muscles of iron, iron fists, and iron minds. Along with the Iron Wills.

Dustari will surrender after a couple of conquest battles. Zormite will take longer. Pirates can be taken out probably with just talks. Forest is a wildcard. And Samurai... yeah, Samurai is becoming the 2k1 Zormite (Political unrest)

There is one problem to all of this, which I discovered the hard way. There is no way to take power of a nation even though you conquer it (I did this with samurai with my own private army). If you could figure out how to get around needing the leader of that nation to sign over power to you, I'm all ears

Just one question about Forests or Nova Astri's conquering plans:
why fighing your allies? Cant you attack just those who deserve it (in other words Samurai)

I remember that... we're still missing forts, flying monsters, a new kind of pet, special abilities for all pets and, along with the flying, summon cult monsters...

As for Kingdom relations... I think it's pretty boring to say "lets attack these, they are weak/stupid/paper tigers/whatever." If the whole thing should be more than a pk-feast, I'd say go out and start some rp-diplomacy, intrugues and so on, keep ic and ooc seperated not to piss off "enemy" leaders, and then you will not only have fun rping, but also a real reason to base a potential war upon.

Its been forever since Stefan said that =/, I have had my summon cult monsters spell for like 8 months and still not able to use it x.x, he said monkeys were going to come out...still not out. Pets were going to have special abilities such as being able to hold stuff for you, and so on...when is this going to go into effect, its already been how many months? 5?

Read the RP Story: Word Reaches Home and you'll understand the causes for war.

Simple Conquest is a valid RP War-starter and you wont need the consent or even interact with the soon-to-be vassal.

Second, you are thinking of a very old Dustari, when the Astri did get us to surrender under Larrien's reign and join your alliance, though the military never did fully comply with the king's wish to appease the occupiers.

You would not find us rolling over anytime soon.

As for kingdom wars, the hardest part is it is too easy to get a lot of your guys on, and attack when not many of your enemies are on line. You kill the batch, and then they aren't allowed to fight when the next batch get on, etc, so it is hard for Stefan or anyone to come up with a good kingdom battle system.

Also, as soon as a conquest system is in place, it will invariably be based on large scale player battles or other tests of player 'PK strength' and at least now, you have to rp to fight a kingdom.

Then you get kingdoms cancelling rp events in favor of 'mapping up' to defend their ability to exist.
Doesn't sound like something that will improve rping overall.

The bottom line is..............is GK an 'empire/conquest game' or an 'rp game'?

It is very hard to combine the two elements seemlessly.

I am in favor of better ways to handle rp wars. I think you should have a 'war mode' and you should be able to view statistics of the war.
If Dustari and Astri were at war now, (or even with a non-kingdom guild), then the dead would not be able to fight or even stay in an active combat zone without getting warped out, until after the full war (not battle) ended by the enemy surrendering or being 90% killed etc, or some good test of victory.

That means, if you defend another nation, you may end up taking enough casualties to make you vulnerable to attack, and you would get a lot more intrigue in dipomacy and treaties.

Of course, winning doesn't make you the new ruler, so you would have to rp that part still, but it would make it harder for a ruler to justify they are rping their reign effectively while ignoring every rp battle's results.

My Wars were a mix of both Battle and Diplomacy.

Anyways if you was to RP Correctly you would notice that the generations before were supporters of the Astrian Cause, which would mean their offspring would be in favor of it also.

It's like how some of my statesmen would join a Confederate Army even if they are citizens of the USA.
