Graal2001: Going downhill?

OK I SPENT 45 MINUTES TYPING A POST BEFORE, AND I LOST IT. HERE IS IT AGAIN AS GOOD AS I CAN REMEMEBER

Vote what you think, then respond why. This is what I think...

Graal is going downhill. There is less fun on it every day. Look at it. IOAWJDOWI. When it started off, there was TONS AND TONS of fun. It was the most fun I ever had on Graal. Most fun I ever had on an online game. Mostly because it was a close community, full of people I knew, and empty of lag. And the levels were great, and full of innovative ideas. When I first got online, I was in the race room. I picked human, I remember signing on Graal for the first time at the saem tiem Pago did. Once I left the house, I got the jumprope. I was like, WOW WOW WOW! That is AMAZING! How do they make the character do that?! It is so smoothly animated! I was super amazed. Then I went down the long path... And saw a blue and yellow thing. It was a BOMY! Of course I had no idea it was, or what a bomy was at the time I signed up. I thought it was an animal. So I pushed it around, then attacked it, and left it. Then I went into the town below, and played CS. it was FUN UFUN FUNUFNEUFNU. So much fun. After that I went up the river to Bogeneria, and up to that big lake. I had fun there too, watching bomies try to get through the stream (haha stupid bomies). It was even more fun playing in the new levels. So many places to explore. And the world was layed out soooooooooo nicely. It was fun using the Don't Connect Levels bug to get into sneeeeky places. I loved it then. No lag. Fun. Friendly people.

Then it changed.

Now we have ET, full of *****s, who do nothing but control NPC controlled games. Do you know how much fun it is to play an NPC controlled game? Not very fun. It's like.... talking to a wall. Some games have to be NPC controlled though, and are much fun like it, but it got out of hand when Survivor became NPC controlled. FAQ didn't need to be brought to Newmain. We aren't that new. None of us. It's an excuse for people to get power. Nobody buys Graal2001 without playing it enough to know that they like it enough to pay for it. And the levels. Nothing is added but new games, and castles and stuff. They should add on to the world, like a small addition every month would be nice. New places to explore would be GREAT. And it wouldn't take that long to do. Now another thing. As I said in the first part of this, bomies were cool being wild. I loved them wild, you could push them around, bring them wherever. I hate the way they are now. They are cluttering and ruining levels, all for one person's enjoyment. It makes it look unprofessional. Also about ET, THEY are responsible for the mass of money in Graal. They used ET money to buy houses, and cheated people out of money a lot. Barely anyone in ET are responsible enough to be in ET. Delete ET. It was more fun when responsible Admins did the events. We don't need a staff position for everything. And Police aren't working out. Well they are doing what they were supposed to do... But.. They don't NEED Police. All they need are about 5 GPs. That's all. I've said it before too. Castles did a lot of damage too. Not to a lot of people, but to me, a lot. People demanded them. Then when they got up, all the kings quit eventually. What fun! RPing is for things like Val, They shouldn't have put up RPing places on a non-RP server when Val is part of Graal2001. iAWJDAIOWDJAWOIJDIWOADJAWOIJDA:OWJ. All this stuff makes me mad. I really really really think if they made these changes and stuff, Graal would be a lot better, like it used to be. They are doing a LOT to try and make Graal better. But it isn't working. They are aiming in the wrong direction. weaiofjweo I also made a map of what changes should be done in Graal2001. The blue circled areas are the only places that things are put deez days.

The end.

Then what were you saying? You clearly stated you thought it was becoming less and less fun. I still find it fun, and I'm pretty sure other people do to. This means you don't find it fun, and obviously don't like it.

You brought the server-controlled NPC's upon yourself. Do you have any idea how hard it is to control an event some times? I was there for most of the events, and all the players were running around, screaming like wild animals, while the ET members attempted to add some order. NO HUMAN BEING can put up with that amount of stress. So to lighten their load, they made things NPC controlled. They still do events, just with more help from the NPC's.

I agree with FAQ, as it seems no one has any real questions other than "HOW DO U EARN MONEY!?@!"

All bomy's are are a fad. It's turning into the latest Pokemon. I think a few tamed bomy's would be good, but now there are barely any wild bomy's left. (Infact, I have yet to see one without an owner.)

I agree, new places to explore would be interesting. But making new places takes longer than you think, since Stefan is working the coding block 24/7, trying to fix everything up.

ET's are responsible for the burst of money, yes. They buy houses and bomy's with all the money they get from the events admin, saying they need it to run events. I can remember when ET's actually had to WORK to get money. Now you see people running around with thousands of Gralat's. Now you see insane amounts of money being bid for things, money that when G2k1 started, seemed like an impossible dream.

And castle's were meant to be a fun thing, but now all they are are weapon-abusing havens. And now everyone wishes they had one. RPing could come into G2k1, but it's seemingly hopeless with the type of people that play G2k1.

Fai, it's not going downhill, but you have some good points. I think that maybe you should take this up with Stefan in a polite manner.

Bomies also screwed up the money. People who got them for free just by asking early on in Graal2001 got to sell them for thousands after Automining, and fishing bugs, and irresponsible ETs screwed up the money.

interesting how you talk about not liking the kingdoms. You mark out Dustari but not Samurai or Zormite. Go find a hole and rot.

See what stefan should do is branch off the servers, so it runs lag free, like my cable modem company does.

I meant that castle as a game. Notice how I crossed out all the CTF and stuff. I didn't cross out CS1-3 because there is other things there and it would look like I crossed out admin house and stuff.

Yep I totally agree... for the FEW of us who enjoyed Graal3001 from the very start it was an AMAZING experience and great people to share it with...

Also I agree on the terms of how things were run. ET was run by Chemical who was Lycia in those days. She, despite her later actions was a superb ET Admin. a

Also there were hardly ANY staff apart from RC's which was nice too =/

There is no castle game now, just a castle.

If he can do that, just think what he's got in-store for us next. So just chill and maybe this "downhill" thing your thinking about will go uphill. Time will tell....

Back on classic i had no need to be a GP or FAQ or any of the other crap, but that was because the GPs there didn't abuse their privileges and didn't waste all their money and give themselves more, here on G2K1, i see Staff with god knows how much money (I Saw one with 999,999) to "Have money for events" or to "Be able to fully server the graalian community." What the hell is up with that?! Stefan should be the only staff member aside from maybe Mr. Bear. I mean if we see stefan with 999,999 gralat, we know that he has a right to that money, for the love of god he made the damn server. But some newbie off the street with 10 hours online time who says "I reset my account so i could be a human/bomy" (Heh, riiight) We all know why he got that position. He knows people, thats the only way to become staff, knowing people. Another thing that pisses me off is the arbitrary descisions made by some of the upper staff. Whenever one gets pissed off, what do they do? They jail the next person they see until someone in a better mood logs on. Graal is losing it, it's just crazy

Thumbs down

I voted for downhill allthough the downhill is from bad to worse.
From day 1 i thought it was the worst server and after 4-5 days stopped playing on it.
It just isnt good enough compared to other servers. Lack of things to do.
It may have all this mining and stuff but all that is is press a button 1000 times.
Not exciting. If they made stuff more interesting it would be better but at its current state I just cant play the server.

Interesting to see that after a few days
of adding a lot of stuff (kingdoms game,
fish quest, samruai castle, railroad stuff)
you are positng that its getting downhill
because of no new things.
We are working on the underground lake,
on the dragon quest, and some other stuff.
(I am also working on a new exe ...)
About bomys: I will add a sleep mode so
that they are not always walking around.
Should the commands thing be taken out
again? May be simplier type of bomys
would be better:
- one that just walks around somewhere on
Mount Antora or in the forests (wild bomys),
may 20 or 25 of them
- one type that only appears when its owner
is online, and auto-follows him and cannot
be programmed, but can do special actions
like carry objects, don't know

Yeah, I was getting a bit bored with graal... but then the railroad came in and lightened things up. Good job Stefan, and good luck on future improvements of Graal.

we could have >1000 of them, also they

Id actually like that, BUT, it would be annoying having a bomy following you no matter what.

I wish you would have a bomy auction, heh, with some of those new nifty bomys. Did you give that alma 0 away to someone?

Yes the railroads are great, now that we can't build them outside. I love them. It's just we need more things like this. I think we need something like boats that we can drive around in the deep water to islands and stuff out there. They should add something to the other side too.
