Still missing the point.

No, most of them are not. We've already covered this.

Even if your previous idiotic conjecture were true, it would still be possible for one aspect to be more significant in fooling the mind.

And until you manage to at least understand the topic of a debate that you started, I'm not gonna continue to reply on the subject.
I thought that the arguement was weather graphic or scripts were better. Both are really equal, I'm sick of agrueing with you all you do is call me an idioit and tell me my replys are so bad that you wont even take the time to reply. Well screw it, I'm done with it you can argue with someone else just leave me the hell out of it your like a broken record.

Before you tell people to abide by the rules maybe you should first. But no I shouldent of said that because now your gonna make up some lame reason and get away with it and call me an idiot again. I believe he's already expressed to you that these 'insults' are non-intentional. You're misinterpreting them.

Actually, why are you still talking to him? It's obvious that every reply you give to him he's either going to get offended or he's going to backlash. It's not going anywhere.

Graphics people++;
Scripting monkeys--;

Kaimetsu, i'm not here to offend you or anything, but please.. what the hell is this? Give us a break, you're saying that scripters are more intelligent than artists?

Well you're wrong, you sure are intelligent but please, you did not get so smart out of coding, people can just stick up the commands up thier asses and remember them, you can't remember where to put a pixel or what color to use, you THINK of what you do, while some scripters just know the commands that are in thier brains.

And leave Donald alone, you're coldhearted, and i don't care if i get flamed or hated by people who look and suck up to you or think the otherwise as my thoughts.

Sure, flame me, this forums is a rot hole anyways, nothing intresting, just seeing hatred, insulting, corrupt moderation and alot more.

Donald is not a idiot, you can stop calling him it, why don't you take the 10 minutes required to speak with him like a human and not like a robot? Just because he isn't typeing good here or anything don't mean he's illiterate(sp?).

By the way, i think every second i draw my images, thank you very much.

You think that's all scripting is? You think the difference between you and I is merely that I know more commands?

Ok, you people seem to be out in a circle, first off, you can't compare artists with coders, seeing they use each their part of the brain, coders use thier logical, and artisit uses their creative.
There is no way to compare those 2 with each other seeing they don't do anything near to each other, yes, maybe coders are smarter, but so? An artist is much more creative, which he is gonna use in HIS job of developing, so what if a coder is smarter? He is a coder BECAUSE he is smarter ._.

But of course, you have to learn something to do good graphics, but you have to learn something just to do scripting, so scripting is for an untalented far harder than graphics are for a untrained artist...

So in short, coders is smarter, but HEY! they get paid for that!
And the same way with artists, they are more creative then normal persons, and they actaully make a living of that.

-The End-

It depends on who you're talking to. Some people are more reactive to logical truths then other people, especially when those logical truths evolve around a abominable situation.

That's irrelevant to my point. It's best to ignore him altogether to avoid further conflict.

I tried deleting this thread but it is too late.

Graphics are only the skin of the project, under the skin is what makes it all work and come together(scripting).

Those who judge games solely on their graphics are ignorant to good gameplay. Sure, good graphics make the game better, but they only make it better.

They are equal, but not directly. If you're assuming on the terms of a different basis, as such like a development team, then they both are equally essential.

1) Ours involves logic more than yours, which is a facet of intelligence.
2) As well as using a different side of our brain, we're also generally more intelligent. Wanna settle this? Name your champions. I nominate myself, Giltwist and Tyhm. Find three artists with a greater combined intelligence and you can take the cake.

I don't want to turn this into a sub-topic of the debate, but cold-hearted people aren't bound to any particular conversational style. They can be cutting and merciless if they want, or they can be as peaceful as any nice guy. Morals restrict, they never enable.

I don't mean to be a nitpick or anything, but didn't you say before that all artists are idiots? And now you're saying that only some are idiots? You can't be a hypocrite. There's going to be an idiot in any hobby or interest no matter what.

I wasn't exactly directing to the cold-hearted, but usually people who are more logical than others who think away from the general crowd on a rather touchy subject are going to be wrongfully labelled 'cold-hearted' just because of what they are thinking (like you in the WW2 debate). In this case, if that's so, then what they say is going to be most likely true. Yes, cold-hearted people don't have to talk on only one controversial level, but that's not why they are called 'cold-hearted'.

Fair enough, I agree. Being cold-hearted isn't a handicap, but expressing controversial, cold-hearted viewpoints can cause conflicts.

*shrug*
I understand quantum physics pretty well, as well as it's mathematical computations, and I act like an idiot all the time. What I was trying to compare to was only the general hobbies that the joe public would go into, not anything like the complex sciences. Because in complex sciences, you can't act like an idiot. You have yo use your brain, or else you're going to make mistakes in your work, and that could possibly lead to some rather behemothic problems (one way or another) later on.

OKAY well I came in really late, but here are my comments on all this ****

Taking things personally----
First, Kinatt (I think it was kinatt?), when he said that that artists dont think and you took it personally, why? Don't jump to conclusions here and start complaining about how I don't like artists - I am one myself. Before he said that I heard a whole lot of pointless stupid and sensless comments. Alot of people on graal are dumbasses

The IQ test----
Programming (or scripting) takes alot of problem solving and, as was said, just plain logic. Yes, you do have to memorize alot of commands, but it goes further than that. After that you need to know how to APPLY it. If you can honestly say that programming takes less intelligence (or equal) than drawing/pixeling/graphic work (yes, graphic with no "S" lol), then...well see the last sentence of the last paragraph -_-

Graphics vs Programming (...again, or scripting)
I don't find it hard to admit, YES scripts build the world. Also, YES having great is both, but scripts are more essential. People at first glance would go for the one with better graphics. Once they see it has nothing to actually do though they might switch to the next though (unless they use the game as just a chat room, then a nice environment is better). Use the graphics to draw people in, use the scripts to keep them.
