Graal Online Policy

Stefan and Unix are not doing a bad job, though there is, I agree, room for improvement.

I understand the reasoning for making folks pay for servers, and I understand the reasoning for making folks pay for accounts. However, the overal design needs to be...tweaked.

1) Reword the user agreement such that submitted works are NOT the property of Graal Online, BUT no legal action may be taken against Graal Online over their use of submitted works.

Reason: What I see to be the original intent of this clause is maintained by preventing legal action, and it allows users to use submitted works elsewhere without Graal Online persuing legal action against them.

2) This one is preemptive. Rumor has it that the offline editor is going to be removed. I advise against this.

Reason: In order to build the skills to become staff on a server, you would already need to have the skills which can only be developed as staff on a server. Long story short, it means that there will be no new people capable of doing staff jobs. Who is going to hire an untalented staff, and train them? Not many people.

3) Sure fine, keep it such that you need gold/vip to PLAY on a server, but please allow lifetime classic accounts to use RC.

Reason: You can do nothing but work and chat on RC. For those that are working to improve your product, you should give some sort of break. For those that merely chat, there are too many free messaging services for people to charge people for this.

4) I agree with the suggestion in other threads about a, say, $5 account type which can only access one server, and use some small fraction of money made from these types of accounts to pay for the server's upkeep.

Reason: I don't play any servers but my own anymore. Most servers simply don't have a level of originality or quality that make for good gameplay. In other words, I don't want to pay for a grocery store when all I want is an apple. Also, if a server is getting a lot of people purchase this type of account for this kind of server, clearly this server is making Graal Online money.

online level editor ;o

even if it is removed, the nw format can be read, so some neat-o person would probably develop a new level editor :P

Instead of making it an online-editor i would think that making the level editor a stand-alone .exe you can download instead of attaching it to the main exe reason being I hate having to go into training mode first before opening editor, and it also makes it easier to run both graal and the level editor at once. and doing this would also make the level editor not take up 100% resources, like the StarCraft/WarCraft level editors.... but by all means, keep the level editor OFFLINE. Making it online only is really stupid...
