How i make an inbuild Server to public ?

Stefan said something to me that an inbuild server must replace a public server.

You need to manually go to Paris to set this up. They decide randomly chose a playerworld that has been up for at least one week. If your playerworld gets more players in it's new 1 week period, it completely replaces the other. Otherwise, the other stays put not being public.

So what you are saying is, all these hundreds of new playerworlds (which cost like 100$ each.. woo) are going to STAY hidden forever and only the 1 best one will be public? I dun think so.

Actually this is mostly true. The original plan was top 7 servers will be visible, but that may change as I doubt they expected to sell 50+ servers.

Rumor and common sense has it that the number will be bumped up to somewhere 10-15, just because of the sheer number of servers.

How are you supposed to get new players if the public doesn't know you're there?

How can people play on your server if:
1) they cant see your up
2) 75% cant play cause they dont have gold/vip

That is what this forum is about. If they know the name of your server, they can log in. If they like it, they tell their friends, and you get some more players. Then those folks tell a few more, and before you know it, whoever makes that decision decides you actually make Graal money and you get put on the public list.

There should be a third tab (or maybe an option) to view the "hidden" servers, otherwise it's simply a waste of money

umm.. only VIP, and Gold accounts can play 'hidden' playerworlds

and imagine that list... like 100 long... no-one would want to look over the whole list to find their PW... it's almost easier to just type it in, and hit connect.

if ANYONE asks for a refund, then they shouldn't get it, since it would be their own fault for not reading everything before they signed up...

the only way i'd be mad, is if my PW got more players than a currently online world, AND was higher quality, with nothing illigal, or anything like that, and after a month, was never put public... THEN i'd be mad, but not till then

Heh, so only a few server's get accepted, better of trying out threw PWA.. least you have a chance of getting up..

I like this better. It means once the six month grace period is up, crappy servers go byebye, even if they are already up. MUahahahahahahaha! *evil thunder* I like this plan because quality gets you more than quantity. The servers that can boast numbers and nothing else are facing a war of attrition. When players start getting access to quality servers, their numbers will dwindle.

A one week period is kinda retareded. Everyone flocks to a new server when it first opens. So it opens, everyone runs to it to play it for a week, and it replaces a older nice server? ***. It should be 3 tabs:
Gold/VIP
Classic (the 10-15 or whatever)
Other (here with all 100, or however many there are)

I'm not really worried. Chances are if it is a crappy server, or even just nopt as good as the one the player usually plays, they won't stay there the whole week. I would suggest that Unix deals with this decision in three stages.

Player response: After this trial period get players to post their impressions of the server and whether or not they plan to continue playing it.

PWA response: I have heard this team is dwindling, but we should still get a professional eye examining the server, so to speak. Just because players like it, doesnt mean it is good. It can be the case that its a new server, not a better server.

Developer panel response: Get the opinions of the most talented individuals of Graal in each field. They will have a more discerning eye than the average player. Also, as good as the PWA might be in gauging what is up, chances are that the heads of each field will have a better feel for what the server's staff will be able to accomplish in the future.

PWA should be able to go through the playerworlds, find the best ones, score them, if they pass then they get put on the list. Kind of like how it used to be before they started PW renting. But if the server totally sucks then it should stay hidden.

your 'Other' would be for gold/VIP only as well?

and why have a list of 100 servers? i mean, it would make it even harder to get new players (if you're near the bottom) at least with typing it in, you can advertise, and get people to type in the server name, instead of trying to find it on a list..

that was the plan... at least, as far as i know...
only problem is... the lack of PWA... how can they rate PW's, and pick which go public (like they're supposed to be doing) if there isn;t really a team...
and if Spark did it all himself, people who didn;t get picked, would call him corrupt, and stuff... and haveing only 1 person judging the quality of all these PW's is just crazy in it's own right, since everyone has a different opinion...

I don't see why Private Servers should require one to have Gold/VIP to play them, since they're being paid for already by the Server Owner.
