Version 3 and text

Version 3 and text... I was playing on version 3 the other day and came up to the GC studio on classic, which is just a place for events but it has a text marquee thing, and graal has an error when it comes to it... any idea how to fix it?

Holy cow, was just listening to "Ziplock Bag" by Lit when I saw your sig .
Anywho, I think the problem is with the client, as it isn't perfect yet. Version 3 has tons of bugs, I made a whole thread about them. Stefan will probably read this and get right on it for the next release =)

Best would be if you could list the places on classic servers where the v3 client has problems.

yea... lots of places in classic have bugs. i think i've noticed particular ones.

If you leave a level with a temporary weapon, the weapon is kept.

If you enter a level which uses setimgpart pics1.png, it's like running into an invisible wall.

You can no longer squeeze through tight spaces. A prime example being the staircase at westocean_l-15.graal in Graal Classic.

I would also like to ask, why were backpals removed? They're obsolete in lighting effects, but in terms of just for changing tile colors, they aren't even close.

In Graal Classic the following places I know to use backpals for purposes other than lighting effects:
Destiny Pyramid
Lizardon Temple
Underwater Levels

I think because addtiledef2 is a superior version of setbackpal. It's more powerful I'll grant, but requires more bandwidth as you need to download a lot more...

setbackpal essentially takes the palette from the specified image and applies it to the pics1.png (It's a palette modification).

It still has an advantage over addtiledef2 and lighting effects, which is pretty much why I question the removal of it.
