Works for me. I'm also happy to see the 6 month $59 option, it helps people figure out if they can really handle a PW.

You know what? This idea of Player World Renting is a big ****...
What would be Graal without the Playerworlds? I'm sure there wouldn't be more than 70 players that would buy a gold/vip account to play ONLY Graal Kingdoms...

Graal used to have thousands of players, but now that it has become a business more than a game to Unixmad/Stefan, they forgot why the players were attracted to the game like 2 or 3 years ago...

The Classic Servers are the only things that hold up Graal's life... We don't earn nothing to work hard and bring to the players a good server and now we have to pay to improve Graal's quality???? What an absurd... I was PlayerWorld Manager/Owner twice already, and this **** is one of the reasons of why I quit...
If nobody pays for player worlds, graal will not survive...

What will be next? Will we have to pay to use the RC? Will we have to pay to download the setup? Will we have to pay to enter in the Graalonline URL?

Argh... Unixmad, you're crazy...

Woah, cool your jets there. All the current playerworlds are getting a breathing period before they have to pay. This means that if the current online worlds are decent, they will get enough points so that they don't have to pay when their breathing period is over.

I don't think this is killing Graal. Obviously there are a lot of people that are going to pay for this, so it's only helping Graal. Plus it's increasing the quality of Graal playerworlds. If only the best playerworlds get hosted for free, a lot of people will put extra effort into making sure their playerworld is great. No more of this free ride crap.

The fact of the matter is, you've been spoiled beyond comprehension, and now that reality has set in, and you actually have to pay for this, you're pitching a fit like a kid that didn't get what they wanted. Just because something was once free, doesn't mean it will be free forever. It's like children and parents... Your parents have to provide you with things until you're 18, and then they can just kick you out on the street. Is it fair? Yes.

Just think for a second. Is it fair to Unixmad that he has to pay to keep crappy playerworlds up? No. It's working out for everyone. Good playerworlds stay up free, bring players to graal, make unixmad profit. Bad playerworlds have to pay, get taken down eventually, and make unixmad profit. I think it's good that Graal is profiting either way, since they are paying for the servers either way.

Sorry if i am only helping this thread go off topic... but I think graal will be making a LOT more money off of people getting VIP accounts, so they can play/work on PWs in the third section...

as of now, graal will probably make over $200 off of my PW alone, just because of my staff getting upgrades, so they can work on it when we start out... this is a LOT more than the $59 they will be getting to put us up.

Because it did what it did to me, your 'N' will be 'n'. It only accepts lowercase, I think, as it did that for me. Try it again...

Ok. But look, we are paying to help unixmad. This is ridiculous. Of course it's good for unixmad, but the best way would be if only good, but VERY GOOD PWs could stay up...

Unixmad doesn't have to pay to keep crappy PWs up. It's his game. So if he still does that, it's his fault only. He can't throw his problems on us.

But no... They keep up some pathetics PWs, and of course it costs money... But it costs money because they are dumb on not taking them down...

It costs either way to keep a good one or bad one up The low quality worlds remain because they meet the minimum criteria to stay online. Its only if they have massive staff problems and the like that they get removed. Up until this point, quality has meant absolutely nothing to the majority of servers.

That's my point. The minimun criteria to stay online should be better or more rigorous.

If I were you I will have said: "what will be Graal without CyberX ?"

About the "Business", wake up guy, Graal is our main work since 3 years, so if having enough money to pay our charges and salaries is a business, then YES graal is a Business !

And don't be worry about the number of Players, we have between 600 and 900 players at night and new subscription have never been better.

Now about Player having to pay, you should think twice before writing:

1) All player world are receiving 6 months Free and will have 1 month free each month they stay on the top 10 servers, it mean that they only use credit if they go from group 2 (visible player world) to group 3 (invisible player world) and they go from group 2 to group 3 based on a criteria of quality, then yes it push quality UP ! And even if the player world stay 6 month in group 3, he will not have to pay anything because of the free 6 months.

2) About the price, it is less than 10$ a month, try to rent a Counter Strike server for this price and we will speak again.

3) The real Goal of this Player World renting is to give everyone the same opportunity you had to build a Player World and if it’s not free it is to not have thousands of empty one with the same content.

About you leaving, it’s already done since a while, you just stay to give negativity and write sarcastic messages, then take your responsibility and go take some fresh air.

Yeah people are making the same fuss they made with paying for accounts, this will work out okay. Also of people are complaining when it wouldnt effect them. And I agree Unix, I am suprised at the rate of upgrades for the forums new accounts I see, and there are more as not everyone registeres here.

And Unix:
I may have missed it as I didnt check all of those pages, so could you say here,

Will PWs that pass the PWAs testing get a cheaper price, or a length online for free? What will the recieve?

Ah yes, Dale Carnegie wrote a great book "how to win friends and in fluence people". Everyone who writes on these forums should read it. Each chapter sums up a basic princibple.
I have only read the first three chapters, the frist principles are:

1. Never complain, critisize, or condemn. (as it only leads to a futile cycle, and you will not get what you want that way)

2. give honest and sincere appreciation (not flattery - people need encouragement as much as they need food and air, if not more)

3. Casue the person whom you wish to change their mind, an eager desire - present the idea in how it will make them want to do it. (talking about your own wants is childish - of course you want what makes you happy, everyone does. how will it get me what I, ther person you are trying to convince, want?)

if everyone on the forums here followed these, it would be a much better place.

Actually, if this is another way to make a lot of money because you think players would want to pay for servers, then I think you're wrong. A lot of servers will die and if all of them died, Graal dies with it...

I don't know if this is a good idea, but, we have no choice. So I hope the good servers find a way to pay for a game that was once enjoyed because it didn't cose a alot...

(No this isn't spam, everyone's opinions count..right O.o?)

They wont die as 7 a month will get free off playcount, so they are the most popular, which probably bring in 60-65% of graals income.

And other people are buying them, I think it will go okay.

Makes sense to me , I doubt they would quit Graal if their PW they were playing on went down. Then again if they went down then it was prolly a low player count PW anyway so not many people involved there.

Ok so let me get this stright, so there are 3 tabs. The first one has 5 best playerworlds the second one has 5 second best and the 3rd one has playerworlds in dev. So every 6 months they rotate the best of the 3rd or ones that are done replace the worst of the second and the worst of the 1st switch with the best of the second right?

Playerworlds in the first and second tab dont have to pay?

Well I thought it was:

1ST + 2ND tab = Contain 7 best PWs
3rd = Rest

They rotate every month. The currently online ones recive 6 months free hosting (If they apply for it).

And 3rd is only accessable by VIP + Gold, and the 1st+2nd get free hosting. If you are in the 2nd/3rd you will be rotated via PWA decisions? And 1st tab is by playercount, but 2nd tab will be influenced by it, actually I think its just PWA who decided up from 3, and not down from 2?

I just got my graal.net account made, and my playerworld idea is sent in. As stated in there, Realms will be designed in a way that players involved in it could go on in there forever.

And right away once it gets up there with its levels npcs, there will be in theory the type of place so that 500 players could have a sense of belonging, individually and on many levels of groups for online community.

and a tip: you can press Alt and PrintScrn anywhere in Windows, it will copy the active window to the clipboard. Then go to paint or an image editor, paste it in.
(or just PrintScrn to get the whole screen)
just like apple-shift-3 on a mac

have fun

So If I make a graal.net account and submite my Sanstrata idea in does that mean I have to be done before a certain date?

1) All player world are receiving 6 months Free and will have 1 month free each month they stay on the top 10 servers, it mean that they only use credit if they go from group 2 (visible player world) to group 3 (invisible player world) and they go from group 2 to group 3 based on a criteria of quality, then yes it push quality UP ! And even if the player world stay 6 month in group 3, he will not have to pay anything because of the free 6 months.

Cool

Those 6 months free only applies for player world that are already online and not to the ones that are applying for pw hosting.

I remember hearing some talk about Players worlds allowed to sell Graal account and upgrade Graal accounts on there site and they would make small percentage of all the accounts they upgrade and sold to help support there hosting fees. I hope that idea has not been thrown away like some many other good ideas. This idea would help to increase the new player number and would make player world rise there standards with there staff and levels. I have seen a lot of staff on different player world that you might not call “friendly” or “helpful”.

I have to say some thing that’s on my mind that’s not so much related to this topic but very important. Graal carries a very bad stigma when it could to new players, this term “Newbie is retarded and has gotten out of hand. I have seen people harass new players for no apparent reason. The people that do this make them self out to be veterans to this game yet they have only been playing Graal for a year or two. Hope fully this form of harass will be removed making Graal a move attractive Online RPG.

''newbie is a global internet word, its just slang, and it only means ''New Person/Player''

Well people are always going to be mean to the newbies you cant change that. There are always ass hats in this world and we cant make them go away, but we can make Graal a fun and interesting game which will make the newbies want to stay on graal rather then leave becuase of "oldbies".

I have ideas for Sanstrata but I need to go online to do them. I'm willing to pay 100$ for 1 year with an npc server. At first I would have the newsan levels up with regular tileset and bodys. Me and my Graphic and nat cheif would work on ideas and putting them on to the levels. We are still working on the tileset is looking pretty nice but it is ok for me to go online even though we are still in dev area?

Yes I am well aware of the term newbie and it’s meaning. My point is that people use it in a negative context that is offensive to new players. I am not saying the word is evil but I think the term is abused a bit to much to rank another player above another. Anyway who really gives a crap if you are a old or new player anyway, it dose not mean your better or worse at the game.
My point for saying this is to make future player world owner aware of this , it might help Graal gain more players in the future .
Anyway I seen the term “Newbie” outcast players on Graal & no I am now at newbie/new player . I have been playing Graal just since 1998 after the beta’s test but I really don’t think that was relevant anyway

I am also planning to develop my player world project online. Npc server is the Graal term from the Mysql server , so what I love to know is if Graal would let me use my own Mysql data base from my own site( I have two ). It would let me interact my site a lot more with my player world like the graalonline site.
