I am getting more and more furious with all the Pkers and Stealers. Everytime i turn around there is Maegis and Cinjimbo1 steraling everyones kills and pkinging when they get the chance. Everyone i talk to has nothing good to say about them. I think there needs to be a jail and some gp's on kingdoms to jail the pkers and monster/drop stealers. I m getting tired of ll the pking and stealing.

This idea is constantly being brought up, but we don't know how to go about it. Like who gets rights; Should there be a log; Should the jailed people be able to get out; Should they be from a certian kingdom to be jailed or not be jailed, Etc.

I think it should be the same system as the Events Master so not 1 person is in charge, that leads to corruption and the like. It should just be inner kingdom jails not global (global meaning as in all GK kingdoms) jails

I think the main problems are how to prove that someone did something criminal (what if a bunch of people come and say "account XY killed one of us, we all saw it, jail him"? How to prove that? Okay, it may be in the log, so popos would need access to it...) and how it should be punished - a day in jail for one kill, two days for 2 kills? And what about scamming? I don't know what the log actually logs, but I doubt there can be solid proof that someine stole something from someone... maybe he even gave it then started to shout "robbery!". Also, what if I was jailed for a day, log off, come back tomorrow - no learning effect.
Oh, and what about people scamming and pking off tag?

Then we have currupt people in certain kingdoms that don't know rp if it bit them in the face and would jail uneccessarily ^_^

let's face it, if everyone knew RP the way they should (or at least the noble ways of not participating in it, i.e. leaving others alone) we wouldn't need any kind of jail or punishment. But I think corrupt GPs have been the ruin for some servers - not saying it'd turn out the same in GK, just pointing out how tricky it'll be - specially as everyone will scream "corruption!" when jailed, no matter what.

We want to keep the server RP orented(sp?) as much as possable. Staff like the EMs (on tag) or even mabey the developers for the server can report scams?; so could the people, if there was enough, that witnessed the trade.

Stefan cannot just guess, so if you do not have proof that someone scamed you, you won't have anything done about it.
Some say scaming is legal, it is not. Please refer to the Rules(Code) of Conduct, it will explain this more.

I would be mroe then happy to watch trades for people, but if you dont feel it nessary, then atleast use the safe trade or trading stands.

No you arent Ghost. Only staff on GK are the Events people.
Rest of the staff - developers - are on the debug server. You know that.

You already have event people thats bad as it is!

Give Kingdom leaders the ability to jail people in their islands allow them to give it to a jail guard or what not make a jail island surrounded by sharks and evil fishies like remake the trade islands to a jail island Make some sorta restraining system so you can capture kingdom soliders. As for the Main Island Free for all.

Well, there are alot of varibles to be added to this. Such things as captured soldiers? How did they magically be captured? What did they do? How can you prove it? How did he get to the jail magically? Or if the npc guard drags him, what happens if he logs off? Many more than that too. We are trying our best to develop a system that will fit the majority.

Chance of successful capturing
Roll between the person who is being captured HP and the Strength of the object used to capture.

Chance of breaking out
A roll between Dex of the person captured against the person who is captor's Str.

No, make it like an NPC where you throw a net or something. Depending on agility level, they can avoid it, and if it hits, you'll appear in the dungeon with the message "You awake in Jail" or something like that.

If a war is going on, then this should/would be disabled, because, well, seriously, when was the last time you saw a cop arrest a guy and then read him his rights in the middle of a war? And the rest, well, that's based on real life, breaking people out of jail isn't an easy thing to do.

Actually, I don't like the idea - jails as such are nice, okay, but I see quite a problem concerning corruption if Kings can name others as guards and stuff. Also, how long should someone be held captive? How about paying the guard to get out? And what use would kingdom-jails be when most scam on main? Who should tend a prison on main? I would say, nobody, so skip the subject and lower taxes so nobody gets scammed... just my 2 cents

That may be true but it still upsets the RP enviroment balance with most other timeperiod items

Also that whole event island should be remove...it serves no purpose.

if their can be thieves there certanely be some kind of law enforcement, but they cant be called cops, what about like a royal knights of gk are the police? not knights of kingdoms but gk

Soldiers take POWs, yes, but if a guy is charging at you, you won't be able to cuff him, lol, the only way to get POWs is to find them unconcious, or make them surrender.

Paying the guard to free tha man? that makes sense, it's called "corrupt officials" happens IRL too. Time being held captive = how bad the crime was. For scams on main you could have like, a real police force, like Royal Guards like Denori said. And non-kingdom people would tend the main island jails, they would be an elected people chosen by the people.

Aye .. someone needs to be in charge of the main isle .. it's total anarchy (even if it's just NPCs).

The "J" right. Jailing etc. Make it strictly a kingdom thing, and the King can distribute the right accordingly just like any other right.

Make the parent rank structure affect who can jail who, if that makes any sense.

Do not allow to bribe people to let you go if it means the money will be given to the player who jailed you, that would just be asking for corruptness. bleh.

Only allow for people to be jailed for a very short period of time, nothing like 3 days or something. Consider 5 minutes of online time to intruders who are not a member of your kingdom, and slightly longer periods for kingdom members.

Allow so you can jail a member of your kingdom regardless of where you 2 might be located. But you only have jurisdiction to jail a non-kingdom member if he is on your island. Non-members jailed this way would be deported after their incarseration period is over. A second offense would be slightly more harsh for both groups..etc.

Jail times would be relatively short, but it only counts down while you are online.

I dont know what else I can add. I made a thread regarding this in the suggestions forum a while back.

That doesn't sound that bad after all...

But what about the stuff someone carries when he's jailed? Some money should be taken away, the worse the crime or the higher the jail-count, the more.

Yes, you should be able to bribe the guards with a bail fund the kingdom sets, between like.. 20-100 plat. You would say something like bail me or I dunno and you would be released and the plat would go in the kingdom funds.
