How do i know i was hacked?

1) Only me and 1 other person know's each other's password. He is on vacation

2) I received a message via a windows error display stating that i should go online, this got around my firewall, both hardware and software version

3) After going online i recevied another one saying that the items where hidden across the kingdoms. I spent Hours collecting them all back and still didn't get them all.

4) I work for a bank in the UK, the information on my PC relates to a lot of security issues and the firewall is tested by the company once a week for whole or floors.

I would not rtisk loosing a lvl 9 character with 20+spells just for fun.

You weren't hacked, your PC has a trojan virus. If you're recieving "windows errors" with non-error messages, you're definitely infected with a trojan. Subseven does those fake error messages. Maybe your firewall just... sucks.

And type things in for you, get saved data, add new data, delete your data, get saved passwords and credit cards, open window browsers, make fake error messages, make your cdrom drive open, flip you screen upside down, and the list goes on and on..

To get rid of a trojan, some can be deleted from virus scanners.... And there's some software that deletes the trojan, but makes the other person think it's still there, and gives them a message basically saying "OMG U SUX." There's more stuff out there, methinks.

Nope no trojan, nothiong comes in or out without me knowing and it displays in the log.

Windows errors can be sent without the use of trojans, a college invented a programe to do just that alas i do not have the site url but still have the exe.

the part about my friend having tha password, he had my old one lol not the one I used when it got hacked.

Usally Trojans are put into Zip files, that is a way to EVADE the Firewalls. But most newbie hackers just send the Trojan with the title of server.exe

The more experienced hackers mask the title of the program, Like there can be a omgcoolsong.mp3 which is a Trojan. OR they can merge two files together so when you open it, it'll open a file but the Trojan is at work behind it.

When you open a Trojan then it makes your computer go "Hey, anything coming from this port is friendly so I should let them in". Therefore hackers connect to your IP through any number of ports (It's like 200 ports). From inside they have a directory to your cache (Credit Card, Passwords, etc), they can spy your software, or just ruin your life. And of coarse, they cant implant spywares and virii.

It's real easy to gain IPs via Forum (Not Graal's), AIM (Direct Connection or Link), and some other ways.

To remove a Trojan you can do two things:
Contact your Local friendly hacker to dissolve it
or
Get a virii scan and find it and defuse it.

Sometimes deleting the Trojan isn't enough.

1) Putting a trojan in a zip file just means that the person has to decompress it before they can run it. It doesn't bypass any kind of security, and arguably makes it even less likely that the victim will infect themselves.

1) Putting it in a Zip means that the Firewall only detects the overlayer (The zip) and not the inside. So therefore when unzipped, the firewall doesn't check it untill ran.

2) The Firewalls I used to have would block anything illigal trying to run on the computer.

Well again i have Anti-Virus another request from work.

That would have spotted any trojan on the system, seeing as how it is updated daily.

This has turned into a virus war LOL I know all about trojans i spent enough time repairing pc's that have had them on their systems to know how to remove many of them

It doesn't work that way. When programs are run from inside zips, they're either loaded into a temporary directory first or decompress it into memory. Either way, the scanner would still deal with it.

Yes, but that hardly ever fools anybody. It's hardly the ploy of 'experienced hackers'.

Then delete the clones. Deletion is always enough, if applied thoroughly.

Better to delete the virus file itself and clean the others, because you may delete an important windows file or something. You could get it back yes, but it would save a lot of time and effort to have Norton clean it or whatever you have.
