Proffesional Developers

I think Proffesional Developers is very much needed in GraalOnline. 4-6 developers would be just fine. They would be some of the best at GFX\Scripting\Levels. They would go around to servers seeing what the Managers and other PW developers need help with. They would fix it and go on their way.

This would raise Graal's quality drasticly. Because servers that need help would recieve it, and currently good servers would become even better.

This "elite" group of developers would probally need to be paid, mainly becasue they would be devoting a lot of time into developing for other servers. I'm sure there are plenty of talented people out there who will work for money, probally not even a whole lot.

unix said they couldn't afford having koni as a GM, what makes you think they can afford 6 developers?

True, but this should still be taken into consideration. I think it would raise Graal's PW quality a lot.

Did anyone say you? You may have been asked if this project was taken but it obviously hasn't yet.

I don't think he was referring to himself. The "I" was, I believe, meant to be an 'It'.

Even at that we don't know for sure that there isn't enough money. unixmad could of very well said that just so he could fire konidias and have a good excuse. I'm not saying that this is true but that may be the case.

or

There may be enough money and unixmad doesn't want to spend it. We'll never know for sure if this is true or not.

Unixmad didn't fire Konidias. Konidias quit of his own free will.

Pretty much. It's a reasonable statement to make.

It's a possibility, since he's paid people to make graphics for him before (though I believe that was an in-person thing rather than over the internet).

I understand he hired some guy called Cardone or something to do the 2k2 graphics.

Probably a Parisian artist, they're a dime a dozen.

Graal is currently making ends meet, but Unixmad hasn't seen a dime of it - it's just enough to cover the servers. He had an investor; they decided a few weeks ago to change their mind and demanded all their money back, 100% refund. Last I heard Unixmad's negotiating with another game publisher; hopefully G3D and GC++ will impress them enough to invest in exchange for rights to publish the GBA version or something. I don't really know.

Ah! The point I and many others have been trying to make all along! This is why standards for playerworlds must be increased.

I'm pretty sure they would if perhaps they felt they could trust thier players better. It would be real easy for someone to donate money and then turn around and accuse Unixmad of stealing it or something.

Best way to donate money is to upgrade all your friends' accounts, or give yourself many years of gold and VIP

I sure as hell know I would buy stock. That would be so cool.

It is like those commercials. I would own .00023% of GraalOnline.

I'm not trying to be negative, just trying to be realistic. There are many many people that don't like Graal or Unixmad for that matter and would enjoy very much doing something like that.

Another problem =/

People that specialise and do alot of one task (in this case developing levels/gfx/ganis/scripts) become unmotivated after time and the quality of their work would drop drastically especially if they have to do so much for so many servers x-x

Heh, if they made Graal worth an investment then maybe they'd get a company to invest. Graal just doesn't have enough to offer for the price at this point I think. Sure there's lots of players overall, but it takes more than that to rouse investor interest.

I personally think that graal needs to have a better option to people who want to offer the game itself, they charge a few thousand dollars and plus 40% of all sales and you cant even pick your own prices

Now to me that is just plain stupid thinking, why wouldnt they lower the price to maybe 1000 dollars and then do a month to month type thing, or like bi-yearly thing like 1000 every 6 months because it is a leased liscence. They could also track the server by having it contact the main servers to send stats and all of that crap to find out what is goin on with the leased servers.

Anyway I dont think graal itself has enough freedom to make it good. Either way professionals are hard to find when they come from graal. They need external sources because graal children have no taste in graphics and they dont know what they like untill it is put out in front of them
