New Graal version and terrain gmaps...

For whatever reason it may be, I'm having a lot of trouble with my gmap and this new version of Graal. I noticed in newfeatures2002.txt that levels now save the terrain height information, but that also seems to conflict with my gmap. Many of the levels I've changed heights on have reverted back to what was on the gmap file before I used it with this new version. Sometimes, the edits I make in the level editor don't even get saved and the level links get messed up (see attachment). I would like to offer thanks for getting the map generator working for terrain. This is pretty much how I caught this little bug

Also, is there a newer version of Terraingenerator.exe? I have to use it pretty much now to change terrain heights but when I save, it clears the minimap string.

An app for Graal that is used to generate terrain gmaps. Made for the NewWorld team. Where you get it is up to you My sources remain undisclosed.

you shouldn't have it unless you are working on a server that uses terrains (like me) but there was a leak from lycia I think...

::scratches head::
I guess it helps if I check to see if the client had been updated first before I post a bug here :x

*edit*
I'm still having pretty much the same trouble. Before, any height editing I did period was cancelled out but 2.1.7.1 fixed that. However, anytime I edit heights at level links, it completely screws it up. Does anyone have 2.1.6.8 (or whatever the last version before 2.1.7.0 was)? I've had to regenerate all my overworld levels because of this problem

I'm 75% sure about this, but...

Terrain Generator = illegal, unless Stefan authorized you to have it.

There isn't much that can be done The NW stuff has been available for quite some time making it hard to not find it if you know how and where to look Sadly, NewWorld appears to have been otherwise dismantled. I was really looking forward to seeing it completed.

Well, people should at least have enough common sense to not incriminate themselves, because when they do, they are asking to be punished for illegally having it. It's like these people are defying stefan and unixmad and saying "I'm violating the rules, so ban me!"

As for NewWorld, it did look nice.

Even unixmad said when he pretty much broke up NewWorld. He said it wasn't hard at all to find anything from NW on some site so neither he or Stefan probably care at this point. They'll eventually release those tools probably just not right now. And if they didn't want me do my playerworld using the terrain, they would've told me to stop long ago but I've not heard a single word concerning my project as far as telling me no goes.

We don't want to stop Graalians to be creative :-)
You can use terrain gmaps as long as you do your own graphics and are not copying everything from Graal Kingdoms.

Normally everything should be fixed with v2.17 revision 1, before revision1 it sometimes only loaded the height of the current level and not from the near levels so you have seen some gap, but that's fixed and I got no problems anymore with heights on editor, offline playing, and online mode.

The only problem that I have seen is that its not saving height modifications from near levels when you have not editing anythng else, so you need to move the cursor there and then press on 'save' again. May be that was your problem?

Ah, sounds great. Just one question, Stefan...where can I pick up a (legal) copy of the terrain generator? Got some ideas for implementations on 2k1

trying to revive 2k1 by making it more like 2k2 is a bad idea

3d terrains=3d terrains.

While 3d terrains is a part of 2k2, there is a lot more to it that sets 2k2 apart from everything else.

hehe, i bet most people would be against 2k1 having 3d terrains, remember when you posted the poll for if you should make manny use new bodies or to keep using the old ones? almost everyone voted old, which shows they like the original stuff better

No, it does not mean that they "like the original stuff better."

Manny is a part of graal2001's history, something along the lines of a "legend" or "hero," and they simply don't want that specific NPC to be changed.

Our plan involves creation of events, not converting the bloody server.

What? Is my copy of the app. not "legal" for you? If you get it from Stefan, I can almost garauntee that it will be completely identical to the copy I have in numerous ways. How I obtained my copy was through different means

I'm sure there was more(some were leaked rather then released, I think).

It is also a very old shot.
