64k Rule

Is that EVER Going to be changed? Will you ever be avil' to upload more than 64k? I know 2002 can.. Do you have to be a gold server in order to do so? >.< I hate the 64k rule!! :grrr:

What is it you need to upload.
The only thing I could imagine it being is a completly new tileset.

Tilesets should be split and added to a plain tileset with addtiledef2.

Yes but I was thinking if he worked for a server that was up and as a good majority of the servers do decide to completly remake it.

And there is auto-maping.
And all maps I have are less than 64k

you shouldn't need more than 64k, if you do need the file uploaded though, send it to stefan

How is it Renegade can put a full tileset up... and other servers can't.. (Any way I THINK Renegade has it as full tileset) Either way, it would be a whole lot easier to just increase the 64 rule.. The lag would decrease greatly.. x.x

An edited tileset.. I edited the pics1 so the whole Lava section doesn't exist.. Just full of custom tiles..-.-

Yes, but that Lags.. Lol. It would lag a whole lot, because ALL of my Lava section is just custom tiles.. and half the ice castle tiles are too.

Shadowless did that with Bravos snow place, and that doesnt lag at all! 64KB isn't that big, dial up can download that in a few seconds, so its not that bad if tilesets are about 4 files adding up to more than 200KB

if you are just replacing certain parts then use addtiledef2, stefan made it for a reason, and how can it lag that much? all graal does is check the text files in the tiledefs folder then replaces the parts of the tileset with the specified image

I don't know. You try adding a bunch of images to it. It LAGS..

There sould be no limit to how big it should be but i think that u should also have a limit to how much u get like on angelfire how u get like 60 Mbs or something and then u can upload anything thats what it sould be like.and if the PlayerWorld wants more then mabey the Manager or Founder that agrees with it sould pay a little bit for some space :/ u know not everything can be free 24/7 365 days :/

It was probably remembered because I read it, liked it, and put it in the sig on my Jeff335 forum account, along with an image containing the lyrics to an old Moody Blues song which I find to be good social commentary.

On this account I have opted for a much more utilitiarian signature.

Yeah well putting a 60MB limit on a PW is a bit, well pointless, it will stop development and peopl may have alot of sound files of GFX that take up more space than a PW with no custom tilesets, gfx, sounds, bodies etc.... So making them pay for more is also a bit wierd, the reason the PW team is there is to put worth while PWs up and so no ''File Space Wasters'' will get online as they have to be to a certain standard.]

Also I helped with this problem through AIM, about how to use lots of tilesets and reduce LAG, so it can be closed unless anyone has anything else to say!
