I say we just go with the idea that kingdoms discovered islands in the southern sea (forget name) and then decide to colonize after the Bomies get a bit reckless... =/

Ok look if everyone plays as if it was just discovered everyone's rp history will end up like "my parents were beaten to death by wild apes, I jumped onto a raft and fell asleep I woke up several weeks later abnd found myself in this land and suprisingly my parents were also here and the apes had really just beat up someone else's parents even though everyone I knew had someone got here" I think this should be completely seperate from 2k1 to an extent. I mean it shouldnt have to be connected, Red Alert was in no way connected to the origional Command and Conquer. 2k2 should not need to be connected to 2k1 and I volunteer to be this RP history council thingie.

Actually, the Zalactic Technologies and crap are still hidden around the world. The only stuff found so far is the one on mt. Antora on the main contenent. The rest has yet to be found....

1. Lets get rid of the Go-Karts beacause there was no Go-Karts back then.

2. Get rid of hockey and soccer field because those games did not exist in the middle ages.

3. The heaven with Zalactic labs because we are in the middle ages

4. Why the heaven do we have rings and amulets that do harm instead of good at stores?? That is stupid.

5. Delete all things that do not belong in the middle ages.

6. Make the land a little less bumpy because the ground is like way to bumpy.

7. Isnt the barbarian really a warrior? What the heavens is up with that?

Or we can all come to this conclusion:

Having a consistent RP story for the islands will not be entirely practical. Everyone, just like story tellers, will have heir own unique twist to it, as they did throughout history. As long as we go along the basic guidelines such as this.

-2k2 is NOT 2k1
-How were the islands colonized/discovered?
-How bomys play their role

People should be able to bring in their own gods and come from their own special areas, whethjer they be national or international, but you can't expect them to play a major role in everything.

And as for Kawaii, she's going to be Princess, we talked it over, and I think she can get a chance there. I mean, she says she is going to be very active.. so I'll give her a chance. Plus I felt kind of bad just throwing her overboard, so to speak.

Even if the elite types decide to for some reason agree that 2k2 is not set in the same absolute location as 2k1, the noobs will take their first look at g2k2 main island (after already having seen 2k1 most likely) and say "Hey, that's Silverstun's Sea, the Bomy Moon, the Survivor Island, and so that must be Mt. Antora!"

To be perfectly honest, I am deadset against the creation of personal gods and goddesses. We already have a set of deities that cover just about every temperment, why go and create confusion by having every person belong to their own religion?

As for the history, I think it should include only a brief history of however civilization arose on the main island, and the seperation of these peoples into the five kingdoms. The easiest and best way to handle the five islands is to describe how each kingdom branched off and claimed one of the islands for themselves. As for bomies, they're a little harder --- there's matters of motive, sentience, and origin to clear up, but I'm sure Er1c and other 2k1 developers could be of assistance.

Alright, I've said that I think the history thing is a great idea. Let's be realistic though: there is NO way to enforce RPing by the history. I think we-the-players should work out the history as a suggested guideline for enthusiastic RPers to follow. And the players who really are serious about RP are 1) going to want to contribute to the history, which is good, and 2) are likely to follow it (more or less) so they can interact better with the other serious RPers, right?

How about, instead of a chat (I can do that too if you like), we get a forum for it? Unless/until there is an official forum for it, I offer this one:

Don't be foolish, of course a history can be enforced. Kingdom leaders almost never allow new members into the kindgom without having seen their roleplaying story --- any character stories contradicting the history would be turned away until properly revised. As far as kingdom RPs go, it's easy enough to admonish rulebreakers and correct their mistakes. We have a small enough roleplaying community for a few high-ranking roleplayers to quietly enforce the rules.

Besides, most roleplayers learned enough from 2k1 to be able to follow a few simple guidelines. Only newer kingdom members would be a problem, and they're taught quickly enough. It would require most of the kingdom leaders' cooperation, but it could be easily done, if people are willing.

And here the thread dies before we reach any kind of consensus. Nobody seems against the idea, but nobody's jumping at the chance to help with it, either.

I'd personally like to organize some kind of chat to reach a general agreement on the basic story.

Don't call me foolish -- Ok, I hadn't thought of that. You're right, that would work if the Kings all agree to it.

I've got just sort of a rough draft of a vague idea of a brainstorm up... go to http://clix.to/2k2rp to read it. Don't be too hard on me, it's just a place to start and by the time we're done, probably almost nothing that I've written will still be in the "history"...

Just look at it, propose changes, let's get this thing moving.

I had completely forgotten about the seperation of the gods and goddesses. Definitely something to go from, and I'm glad there's at least one person interested in getting this off the ground.

Aestus, have you thought mabey there's a reason no one is offering to help you? If stefan or Uni wanted to make a story for 2k2, they'd chime in. Sure, the players have a right to make their own minds up, but let's not forget that so far...you've had MINIMAL postitive and negative input. Thus, no one really cares about a central history. Besides, such uniformity is overtly oppresive. Lighten up

Have you seen one post in this entire thread saying the idea was a bad one? Stefan and unixmad are hardly experienced roleplayers --- I wouldn't expect them to be able to craft a history like the one described. There's been plenty of people stating that they thought the idea was a good one, and that it should be made. It's only unfortunate that no one wants to spend their own time on the project.

Maybe you're just biased against the project because it was created with the intent to keep people from making their character like your's? God forbid you would have to create a character who (gasp!) wasn't immortal.

Aestus, pleas stop being so single-minded. I oppose it because I oppose such strict regulations. Oh, and Gryffon is/never was an immortal. Also, I beleive it was you who, during the Kamuii Revolution, told me not to be so melodramatic. I think you should take your own advice. [sarcasm] Don't make me pull rank Joking [/sarcasm]

Gryffon Lawreini Musai Durime was born, literally, in Hell. He was a demon, and his mother died giving birth to him. It's known that his father was a demon, but his mother's race is still unknown. His father and some of the rest of his family escaped from the Underworld and arrived in a desert. There they set up a land called Obsydyon, and Gryffon was trained in the arts of Holy Magic and the Arts and Sciences.

Gryffon, on his fourty-second birthday (demons age very slowly) left the desert in hopes of seeking his destiny. He traveled many continents in the next ten years, changing identities each time he arrived in a new land. All the while he was gaining more and more power as a Divine Mage. This all changed on his fifty-third birthday.

On that day, gryffon had a vision of a battle called the War of Scion. A voice told him to go there, and to stop it. Not knpowing how he would do it, Gryffon mounted his old Hiyruu, Tygo, and flew to the secret location of the unknown battle. There he found ten powerful mages each casting insanly powerful spells. Instead of the Spells fighting one another, they combined and began to form an unstopable force. The Mages then sacrificed their lives to seal the spells, and the two most powerful, the Mages of Chaos and Order, refused. As their spells still clashed, Gryffon landed,a blade of blue fire forming in his hands. Gryffon struck down the two mages, and their spell was sealed inside him, as was a part of them.

After many travels, Gryffon returned home to find Obsydyon burning and destroyed. For the first time ever, Choas eveloped him and he searched out those that destroyed his home, to no avail. He returned to his senses, and returned to one of places he had once traveled to, the only place he could turn to. Dustari.

In Dustari, he used his immense knowledge collected in two and a half centuries time to further Dustari science, and then chose to lead the Council of Sages, allowing him to stand back from History for a short while.
Right, you weren't immortal, you could just live for thousands of years, could kill the most powerful mages in the world when you were a child, created an entire race of demons, an underworld, and an entire continent nobody else had seemed to know about till then, not to mention inventing what would have been some pretty ****ing major events in history, no?

These are the kind of characters that need to be prevented, if we are to have any kind of serious roleplaying environment in 2k2. Find me one real roleplaying game without a roleplaying background and a set of guidelines, and I'll show you Graal.

*rolls* You think I have time for meaningless things? Dude, come on. I script. I think I'm good at scripting, that is my thing. I hardly ever PLAY Graal unless I'm interacting or testing my NPC's. Sometimes to see new NPC's of servers, but that is about it. I've lost some interest in Graal, and have devoted my time to being the best scripter I can be.

I find your post stupid and pointless... the only reason I bothered to read it was because it was on a thread that some people (including myself) are actually interested in.

Dude, if RPing doesn't interest you, ok, more power to you. But don't go razzing people who find RP fun.
