Let's Attract Players To Graal

I am writing this thread because I think its about time we all put our minds together and thought of various ways tol ure more players into Graal. Currently there are only 100 people playing in the evening on Graal Classic. I think it would be nice if we could boost this value up to around 200-250. I am only using Graal Classic as an example. Now I do not want loads of messages about how you want the "good old days of 1.39 back" or something, I want positive suggestions for ways we can get more players into Graal. We dont even need these people to be p2p, but the more players we have, the more we attract. I had the following ideas:

1/Instead of making people pay $15 for an acount, instead why not bring back the old system of trial accounts, and why not make it so that if you are on a trial account you have to click on some banned adverts before being allowed to play.

2/You could make it so that people can buy a subscription to the forums. Loads of people dont play Graal, but still use the forums. This is just another way of getting money without making p2p allmost compulsory.

3/If you have a site that is about anything, I mean absolutely anything, could GraalOnline post a banner advert on your site, that would attract more visitors.

4/Surely the servers who have less than 10 people on 24/7 should be deleated because this is costing GraalOnline money.

5/Possibly people could pay for @graalonline.com e-mail addresses. I myself would probably pay for a [email protected] e-mail address.

ANY suggestions or things to help would be welcomed greatly.

That would be a good idea O_o But, I have something to add, maybe we should bring back ghost mode for trial members on classic servers. But even if we did that, the tons of people that quit would hafta find out about this...Hmm.

I think there have to be some big events, I don't know ho they'd be organized, but big events that would attract people to come back. Maybe huge guild tournaments organized by staff or something *shrugs*

I'm not really attuned to whats up on Classic.

For that to happen you'd have to have guilds with more than three active members...

There are very few guilds with that requirment
The Sabbat
US
Brotherhood. Thats about it

Lies. Sabbat and US recruit anyone. Why put requirements on a guild at a time like this?

Yea sorry, misread it wrong. Anyway, there are actually quite a few guilds with plenty active members.

Big Events including Playerworlds in would be cool...

But I still think the banner idea is the best one... I mean, doing big events would make Graal better but only to the players that already play Graal... And to the ones that don't even know what Graal is?
GraalOnline pratically doesn't have ANY banner at websites... At least I never saw one.

My friend told me about Graal and I liked it but if no one say to their friends about Graal, the game will die...
That's why we need more publicity...

Maybe if Stefan/Unixmad make the worlds biggest waffle and put www.graalonline.com in the middle, we will get some publicity!

Not nesicerially.
It depends on how they market it.
If it's only sold on the Graal website like the mouspads etc the not many players will be attracted to it because they wouldn't know about it.
If it is sold in stores then it would attract players to the game but I remember someting about Unix (I think itwas Unix) saying itwas only going to be sold on the site.

Well trust me the game will get around more than that. By then I hope GraalOnline will at least have ad banners for the game. People in this community can tell their friends, post links to it on other forums etc. and also gaming sites will have it on their index's.

OH I KNOW! HOW ABOUT BETTER CONNECTIONS!? If we got some faster, more reliable servers first this goal would be nice but hell on some of the servers with more complicated scripts we already lag like hell my man, if we can't even support the CURRENT amount without lag how can we expect to support more than that?
Edit: NO more AP, AP is when Graal started to go downhill in my opinion. Also I agree with statement 4, those pieces of crap take more space and connection speed than they're worth, and I KNOW that those private servers are killing us, Stefan NEEDS to start making them snap out the PW or kill it off :/

Hell I'd help with the banners and advertising, I know a bunch of ways to, if we could get the connections to make it less lag I'd give it a go ;x

That attracts more players how?

We could make banner ads for Graal and get them on as many sites as WE can (i mean, dont gotta pay, lots of sties do banner exchange or will let you have a banner) as long as stefan/unix dont get mad about that

Only a complete ***** would pay money for access to forums when they don't play the game, their opinions wouldn't count for jack since they don't play, and they wouldn't know wtf to say cuz they'd have no clue what's going on.

the people upgrading new accounts because they were banned means more ACCOUNTS, not more PLAYERS.

This is a problem, I dont want more accounts signed up or more money going to GraalOnline (even though I am by no means objecting to that), I am talking about increasing the number of people playing Graal. I am focusing on Graal Classic because that is where I work, and that is the server with the most players at the moment. I think we should try to target to get at least 200 players on Graal Classic on one night. I will set around trying to arrange loads of big events from the Game Co-ordinator team, and I will also try to organize a big guild tournament, now if you own a site (doesnt matter what its about, except for pornography) then post here, and we will try to get a banner advert put together that you canb put up for GraalOnline, which should hopefully attract more players.

Re: Let's Attract Players To Graal

1/Instead of making people pay $15 for an acount, instead why not bring back the old system of trial accounts, and why not make it so that if you are on a trial account you have to click on some banned adverts before being allowed to play.
--Because of credit card fraud and suchnot. Thank the cheepskates who couldn't seem to dish out 27$ last year.

2/You could make it so that people can buy a subscription to the forums. Loads of people dont play Graal, but still use the forums. This is just another way of getting money without making p2p allmost compulsory.
--Perhaps, but whats the point? To express your ideas of what you'd like graal to be? Yet you don't play the game so you'll never be able to see it o.o;

3/If you have a site that is about anything, I mean absolutely anything, could GraalOnline post a banner advert on your site, that would attract more visitors.
--Seems like utter idiocy to advertise on ameture sites.

4/Surely the servers who have less than 10 people on 24/7 should be deleated because this is costing GraalOnline money.
--Acually they cost less money, since not many people are on, it hogs up less resorces. A server with no one on it, doesn't really hog up any resources.

5/Possibly people could pay for @graalonline.com e-mail addresses. I myself would probably pay for a [email protected] e-mail address.
Used to be able to (@graal2001.com) but it was removed (for whatever reason)

Why should you guys worry about more players? You paid for the service, shouldn't it be they who receive the money who keep you content? If the Graal Administration wants more players, then they will attract more players, but I don't know why you guys should do all the work, and still you are paying for it.

Well, if I could find a good free web host that would allow a phpbb forum I'd advertise Graal on my site XD...I'd love to see a lot more players on Graal. and I think advertising for Classic only seems ridiculous and unfair, wtf are you gonna say on the add "Play Graal...Classic ONLY!! plz, i'll syd"...Having at least 200 on per server at a time would be fun...Graal needs faster servers? Well, I can never tell, I always just assume I lag to be nice but if faster servers would improve things, they should do that too....I think more people should just buy a friggin p2p account, I hate seeing n00bs on PW's with nicknames like "SSJ525141Gohan - WILL DO ANYTHING FOR A P2P ACCOUNT!".....and...P2P'S COST 15 DOLLARS NOW?!?! WTFS?! at the store, I see the cheapest offer is like $19 for 3 months or somethin....Graal is well-worth the $49 though when you got a good fast computer or at least friends to play with, I have a slow computer, so i can't play Graal 2002, but I RP with friends on Graal 2001 and that's still fun.....so yeah, my point is....it would be nice if graal's population would like...double...there's only like 500-600 on peek hours, right?? and on gold servers, less than 100.... players on gold servers < players on 1 PW

Tyhm has a spectacular aura about
200 players on Classic without an increase in subscription?

That'd require taking players away from the other servers. That's no fun.

Increase in subscription, then everyone can have 200 players.

I suddenly feel somewhat dumber.

1. Players will increase in time, Graal online only used to have about 300 - 400 people on at peak when i started. (1.39) (but it will take time)
2. Pith is right with the forum accounts thing :-/
3. Banners never worked And often screwed things up.
4. More Accounts = MORE PERM PLAYERS
5. Ghost mode was ***, but It does make people have to re-upgrade to play, But this does decrease temp numbers.

SURE, LETS MAKE IT SO EVEYR SERVER LAGS! YOU WANNA DELETE A BUNCHA PWs AND THEN THERE ARE LIKE 200 ON EACH SERVER? AND AT PEAK TIMES 400 THEN IT ALL CRASHES? how daff can you be. Graal is fine the way it is. The only thing I dont like is that we cant host our own servers, like say if we wanted NC, why couldnt we host the server if we pay for our own hosting.
