Close 2002

Why don't you close 2002? It's going to be just like Alpha when the full version is released. People are going to think it's so fantabulous for about 6 weeks, maybe more. But I promise that people are going to slowly go back to 2001. It's pointless...putting all your money into a server that a lot of people don't like anyways. Why not just keep up with 2001, and work on improving it to be a better server? You're going to end up screwing yourself right down the drain putting all your time into 2002...just like Dransik did to itself...

I like(d) it better than G2K1...it's the same thing, but prettier, with more potential. What it needs is for Stefan to let the LATs of it do their job, assuming any remain, and get back to working on the executable. ^_~

Yeah, no harm in letting it continue to exist though - provided Stefan doesn't waste all his time on things other staffers could do. I think he's STILL rewriting the RPG Engine, which is fine, but if he then decides to do the spider quest himself, Classic's doomed.

This brings up a whole new topic. Stefan can code the game, stefan can script pretty badass, but can he do levels? and graphics...he made most of the first heads and swords and such i think...

I think the problem is that so many people will stay on 2k1, the population of 2k2 will decline slowly. And you can't role-play with only 20 people, you need numbers in the 50's or so

That's what happens...that's what I'm trying to say, the declination of 2k2 happens every time, and will happen again. That's why Stefan should put his money into making 2k1 more beautiful, and soupe up the lag problems instead of wasting his time on 2k2.

No, Classic is dying because there are security breaches one could drive a mack truck through, and only Stefan has the power to fix them. But he's too busy.

There has never been and never will be any experience in graal more fun than when I first started on classic. When we jumped for joy at a new heart quest. Struggled to get a new weapon. And magic was the most priceless thing in existance. (considering the magic quest was pending) lol.

Heck I started scripting becouse I wanted to duplicate the Fire Spiral. I worked for days trying to figure out how to mimic that. Back before trig class. :-/ I didn't know a thing about sin cos but I learned.

Tyhm, get a damn NPC server. Converting to serverside wouldn't be too hard if you asked for a hidden server to test it all on.

1) Even if I were to somehow bring back all the old "classic" levels and update them to work under the new scripting rules, it wouldn't be the same - it wouldn't be new anymore, and after a while it would either need to be updated (to make parts new again) or it would never be updated (to keep it Classic).
2) I asked Stefan for an NPC Server with options - ie Still Allow Clientside Scripts, Still Allow Baddies, Still Allow Weapons, so I can convert it a bit at a time. If I make Classic 2 with an NPCServer, then do a sudden switch, people are just gonna be even more disoriented than usual. Plus, why the hell would I want to work on a second server and update two at once?

Wow, best idea I have heard for 2k2. I don't even think they let players make things to add except heads and stuff....

I get really bad lag on it.

And keeping on subject 2k2 shouldn't have been released.
They should have just kept it staff only untill they had completed it or felt that they had enough of the main island ready for full release.

The way they are doing it now is releasing one thing at a time so people do that then they have done everything again. They need one huge update releasing tons of things so it takes afew hours to complete them all and things players can do to keep them amused. All there is, is jobs and one mini game I think. Nothing really to keep the player busy.

It lost it's shiny new feel to quickly after the updates stopped comming.

levels are easy as hell using a gmap/terrain, they detail themselves
