GuildCP upgrades due to be completed today

Once the modifications are complete, the system will go under a security review by Unixmad himself. After being approved, the system will reopen to the public.

The mods are just some optomizations. It won't affect the rosters.

I got the modifications on the guild application processor complete. Now I get to attack the GuildCP itself.

I personally think there should be stricter rules regarding getting a guild so we don't have a new explosion of new guilds.

i emailed Galen with a bunch of rules that could be placed on guilds to reduce the number of dead guilds and guilds that would die after being created. but that was sometime ago and i dun even have the email anymore. but one of them was about making guild have their own website and antoher was giving a good reason why the guild should exist

why do you care if some people get guildcodes where the guild wont work out? thats not your problem, its theres. good guilds will prevail, no need to limit the number of guildcodes. guilds not well run will just be a guildcode that some people wear for fun. does that really bother you? the only conflict i would think this would cause is the servers harddrive might not be big enough to store all the guildcode files, but i dont think this will be a big issue.

When the guildCp gets up, all guilds with less than 2 members should be deleted, so all these dumb 1 person guilds on G2k1 will be deleted.

There were bugs with account names. You see I couldn't join a guild (at least wear the tag) because my acc. name would show as Lion\'el-Jonson and it would say my account did not exist

The guilds on G2k1 have nothing to do with the global guild system. Those are local tags, not global.

Additionally, I gave up (Seven Pointed Star) in exchange for my (Admin) tag.

Later tonight, the GuildCP will be open for G2k1 subscribers. Once we verify it's no longer causing problems, it will be opened for everyone.

I'm currently trying to make my own little "GuildCP" for my site for the server I'm working on... not a GLOBAL one, and not one that'll work as seemlessly as the official GuildCP, but one that'll help users and the Guild Manager actually manage the guilds. One problem of course being that I can't access the graal database like the GuildCP code could... access permissions, lack of knowledge of the layout, and lack of knowledge of meaning of the data in the fields won't let me hook into the real database to pull out anything... and well, I wouldn't expect to get access to it. But for what I'm gonna do, it should work.
