Dustari houses and their roles

Okay, I'm posting this so hopefully people will refer to it when I ask them what family they want to be in. I've tried to consider every single family and their image, and I have come up with this. Remember, THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE so don't come yelling at me if I wrote something wrong:

Each family in Dustari is run by a Lord. In some cases, the Patriarch families are run by Dukes/Duchess. They basically have a handful of Dustari members in their family which helps organize the citizens much more easily within the Kingdom. The breakdown is as follows.

The Royal family of Nightrose (Lead by King Kamuii)
The family consisting of the Royal Family, a few chosen nobleman/women and stragetists, as well as what else the King sees fit

The Dukedom of Trenine (Lead by Archduke Tupper)
The noblility group, who are very skilled in the arts of politics and diplomacy. Very gentlemany (and womanly) people.

The Dukedom of the Durime (Lead by Duke Gryffon)
This family has a small group of talented people who use Holy Magic as well as Scientific reasoning.

The Dukedom of Trenton (Lead by Duke Cody)
A group of people who use a combination of hard work (some workers) and religious members.

The Dukedom of Warhare (Lead by Duke Zurkiba)
A group of nobles, as well as some specialized fighters and kingdom workers.

The Lordship of Bladesman (Lead by Lord Vandit)
A group of skilled military fighters who defend the kingdom and use various weapons.

The Lordship of Hyralt (Lead by Alkaren???)
A group of religious priests, zealots, templars etc.

The Lordship of Silverburg (Lead by Lord Nicholas)
The main core of mystics, including sorcerers, mages, wizards etc.

People wishing not to be part of the nine different families will be part of the caste system. They will be able to keep their last nam,e and any rank they want, but they will not get special privledges some houses may get, like actually being in the houses when they are uploaded (hopefully).

If you are a new member to Dustari, you will automatically be put into the caste system until you request to join a family that fits your character, and the leader of the house approves you.

I also heard that the Senate and Council has changed because of this, but I have no idea how it works, I'll let someone like Gryffon explain.

Remember, this might change some, so don't say this and that is wrong, you can kindly point it out but don't flame.

Okay, so here's the Council, out of the goodness of my heart and the slippery grey matter of Kamuii's brain.

The Council has 13 members, 7 are Dukes/Lords of their families, the 8th is Archduke Tupper for the Treines. Next there is the Prince (WAY TO GO HENRY!) and the King. Next are the Royal Scribe and an Advisor to the Council. Finnally, and me for a while at least, is the Chancellor, the Mediator, who acts as Judge Jury, and Executioner in the Council. He is always from the 2nd House, and House Rankings are determined by the following factors:

Taxes (Thats taxes, not obcene bribes, Zurkiba)
"Behavior"
A small amoung of Sparring
Prowess in the Government
And anything else the King wants to add in, no matter how assanine.

And I'm sure Kamuii would love to continue this topic into exactly how the Council will function. So far, here are the Council members as I know them:

Henry and Kamuii, Tupper, Me, Zurkiba, Cody, Vandit, Nicholas, and possibly Alkaren

Nah, thats different i think. We have a house system, like, 4 houses and 2 forms from each year are in one of the 4 houses. But thats different system because the school housing system is generally just for competition, like "monkey house vs cheese house" in sports day and stuff -_-

"Strategists," not "stragetists." You made the same mistake on a tag, too.

Sorry, it was just bugging me. I'm sorry if I sound condescending at all.

Sorry, was late last night when I made this up, and I didn't make your tag, it must have been Kamuii?

No, I meant you made the "stragetist" error on Damon's tag also.

I haven't been added back in anyway.

Why in the hell would you take a perfectly functional, extremely well-organized rank system and throw it out the window for this house system? I can tell you this much already — it won’t work. The military is already in chaos. Nobody knows who outranks who, since each house uses its own variant of the former system. If a soldier from the Warhare family is given an order from a commander in the Bladesman family, does he follow it? In a battle, which family gives the orders? The old rank system was flawed, but everyone knew their place. You may as well have divided Dustari into eight sub-kingdoms, and in the new world, Dustari will be weaker than it has ever been. You either need to define the chain of command, or do away with the system altogether. I’d choose the second option, because this type of feudal system will simply not work in Graal.

maybe there should be a houseless varient, for all the serfs, new citizens, and the such, so people will have the ability to slowly grow up into a large family from meger beginnnings.

There were some problems that occured when implementing the system that shouldn't have occured, such as the unhelpful appearance of ranks I would not have preferred.

Things WILL be sorted out and it WILL be better than before. Once everything's sorted out, that is...

I think the funniest of the families is the Durmine, they try to combine religious magic, and science, two things that shouldnt go together

Oi, ever heard of Alchemy, ghosty? Durime is supposed to be about the theme of balance-Our Holy Magic can either be Light (Sole) or Dark (Lune), and the Science part is Alchemy, the balance of Magic and Science

holy has a religious conotation for me, and Religion and Science are complete opposites.
