It's just a sound sample of waves hitting a shore...it's not long.
If you've ever played on 2k1 and was near Bomboria River, you'd here the running water (if SFX were on)...that script I posted is exactly how it works because any sound that is played starts at the NPC's origin unless you use play2 which allows you to set the x/y for a sound.
Another bug I've found is after setting a mod (s3m, xm, it, etc.) to play on the current level when you go to a new level that has a new file specified, it keeps playing the one from the previous level...this only happens when on a map...or one song overrides another even after doing stopsound <filename>; and stopmidi;
