What about a designation for each account type? Right now I can PM someone, but they might not be able to PM me back, and I have no clue if they have the ability to use Pm's.

suggestions :

Display it in a person's profile
Have a part of the playerlist labeled "Trial" for them

They can always reply to your PMs.

They can always reply, but I agree that it would be a good idea to have the type of account they use in their profile. That's useful for a bunch of things.
