Umm...no, why would that be? However, if it's true that you can farm 4 trees at once in the 12 apple spot, perhaps I can get people to abandon mining either way, rock stealing would be eliminated.

since Mining is the easiest way to earn money, wouldnt it be logical for there to be higher risks involved?

When farming was the easiest way to make money, there were no higher risks involved.

Mining - 80g per hour (minus PKing attempts)
Fishing - 1g per hour
Pearl diving - 100g per hour (if there are no other people)
PKing - 60g per hour (if you know how to defend yourself)
Abusing the economy - 10k per month :P
