HEY, NO, LISTEN.

I DON'T THINK THAT IT WILL WORK, SO I DO NOT LIKE THE IDEA.

Taking away that avatar and title post-limit won't stop the post-superiority beliefs. People with more posts usually believe that they are a little better at using the forums than the 'new' (or slow posters) to the forum. Those 'new' (or slow posters) will most likely be discriminated against in some way of "post superiority," and start spamming like crazy to catch up in posts. Whether it be 1,000 needed posts, they will spam for them. No matter what, you won't get rid of it, or reduce it immensly.

Yeah it's true. SPAM is a ***** but on huge forums like this, it will always be a problem! Party due to the young audience here, also due to the postcounts and avatar requirements.

The best way to handle SPAM is to just ignore it if you don't like it. It's pretty much not allowed on all forums apart from Not Graal, and even there it's not exactly so bad. Mostly it is contained in a few threads devoted to it.

A better way... would be for Unixmad to remove post counts or hide them, and to remove the avatar postcount limit. Then people would spam a lot less.

*agrees*
That would reduce it.
Everyone has been saying my idea wouldn't work because they would still try to be superior by post count, but if we removed that also...
Now..Why is THIS a bad idea? (to the people who said mine was bad)

I doubt it would significantly reduce the amount of spam here.

I give up, this isn't going anywhere
All the people who already have title/avatar will say its a bad idea because they won't be as special anymore
All the people who don't have a title/avatar will say its a good idea because they want a title/avatar
it's not going to change, and it will never happen because there are more people with title/avatar to tell Stefan not to do this, and the more known peple (birdbird, Koni, ghost pirate, etc) have a bigger say in this than a few people who aren't well known.

Damn people and their egos
