we want the Gserver!

To stefan in the nect update i think u should bring bac the Gserver ..........for thos of u who dont know wat it is...its......a little program that let ANYONE set there own server/playerworld and UR the server......runs off ur computer.....but this time i think there should be a change........u should have it like u can upload all the gifs/png/mng levels etc all the stuff u need to be able to see everything (not pics1.png) to ur own website.........so people can play it even if there not running the gserver.....and on the www.graalonline.com website in the playerworld section have another option to pick to view the addresses to the server.... like make it so u just have to do the web address that u stored the files on.......and everytime someone adds a server the text at the graalonline web site updates and shows ur server name.......and u shoudnt be able to use the add person comand it should just use the usernames and passwords from the graalonline database ............im sure u will get much more users on to graal if u do this again with those changes

Stefan should just make a seperate version or something that comes with the Gserver but has like no NPC server and it's not hosted by them (the server)But maybe they could make it so that it costs money to use the Gserver or something..Like a p2p account is needed to run the server

,,,,no i think they should just use the old gserver......u obviouly never seen it.....its great ....if u want to get v1.3 u can....im not tellin were though stefan went crazy at me last time for advertising that thing.............it would be better though to host it on a website......and stefan woudnt do the other thing....cause im talking LIKE MILLIONS of people making there little 3 level server and that would take up to much space in the graal website.......or werever....so u should be able to use ur own site

I think you forgot that Graal isn't Cyberjoeuer's gift to the world to let us run free with and do whatever we want with. They are not responsible to us to make us have fun, they are responsible to their checkbooks. The idea can't happen.

Mom: Thanks hunny, couldnt have done it without those wonderful NPCs you made.
Mastercola: It was nothing! You should see my upcomming rupee dropper. I got the script from some message board.
Mom: Hunny you are so smart
Father: Quit hitting me
Sister: I want a bomy
Mastercola: I dont have that script yet
Sister: *Cries*
Mom: Hunny, Please get that script soon. Its your sisters birthday and she needs a bomy.

And so on...

2/3/4 mode was kinda incompatible to
the daynight stuff and to online mode,
so it was better to take it out so we can
improve the online mode better
(yes i know it was a nice feature for offline players)

There were actually never gservers that were
allowed to use in the internet. Even in the old days
not many people have ran their own servers,
it's not easy to run a server that is up 24/7 and
supports enough bandwidth and players
(at least for normal people; companys can buy it).
The other problem is that it's hard to control
the content, make money with it, and protect
the gserver code if everyone has the executable
which can be disassembled.

yea it would be very easy to decompile it and rewrite the program to your own liking meaning chaos. Also, seeing as how it is part of graal, if someone hosted a server with illegal material stefan, UM and cyberjouer could be held responsible.

He should just make a little program that you can connect to online and only the person who is running the program can play it so they can test there stuff out to see if it work online.

If you people let out something like the gserver for people like ninjaterd said, I would be able to host it 24/7 on a 400 download kb cap and a 300 upload kb cap... That will be cool if you gave something out where we could host are own playerworld if the person that wants to host it meets the requirements.

how much does the updated Gserver sell for, if so a company wanted to buy it?

Ehh wasn't gserver halted because people could run their own non-cyberjouer affiliated servers and Stefan and Unixmad wouldn't make any of the profits?

Heh heh, really, what would Stefan get out of it.. you say more customers? But why.. if the person were to change the gserver to allow anyone to play on it (nonp2p included) and ran it all for free or something, Stefan would lose customers (especially if the server was the latest version and could do npc server and all)

I personally think it would be cool to rent a server and pay cyberjouer monthly for it, and you could make a profit depending on how many players you get on average for the month.. or maybe how many accounts were created (upgraded) to play on your server.

Actually someone is doing a visual basic 1.3.9 Gserver.

It won't be copyrighted by cyberjouer and the players
can run it freely.

I believe we need something to test P2P scripts with.

Maybe a special server that allows up to 3 or 4 people connected and can only use 25 levels at a time and only 4 NPC in databse?

Some people have a GServer, although the G in that case means something else.
