Hi,

I know your all probly gonna yell at me but i have been working on a house that if touched by fire would catch on fire. My problem is that it is very very very laggy... is there anyway to make it jut ramdomly place fire on the house with out locking it up? I realy need help on this... plz.

i'll just give you some hints ....
first of all use random variables to place it thoughout the house .... then make sure after it places a new one t deletes an old one to keep lag down ....

If you used putnpc, don't use it and find a better way

yes putnpc can be laggy.
but if there is no other resort dont hesitate to use it.
If you want to make the fire disappear after the player re-enters the level, then you could do it locally using showimg with over index of 199, or global using a index below 200.
If you would like the fire to stay and use showimg, you could always save the random fire positions to the string, and when the player re-enters the level the script checks them out and shows the fireimg on the house again.

Ok,

I have gotten the house and fire done but how could i make light efects and have it check if you have a certain wepon and that its fired?

dude, those are easy scripts! The lighting effect script is even in the predefined NPC section. I suggest you do some studying on newfeatures.txt and commands.rtf Those will help you in the long run. Experiment untill something works.

The problem with the commands.rtf file is that it tells you the command and the different sections to it, but if you don't know what to put in index as an example, it's almost useless

Eh,

Come on people get it and play on the lvl... the sign tells you what to do... oh and its the building on the right that starts the fire, the one with the sign. The whole thing is 6 secounds long

Eh hahahah! Heres a screan shot of the buildings on fire... the whole procses is timed and takes about 6 secs to run through it. Heres a screanshot of it done.

Ok,

That was all just a test with lighting... the real fire does not look like that... i just wana make it if you have a torch and to kept it on a house for about 1 min... it would burn for a sec...
