Should Graal have games of luck and chance?

I was thinking about making a small casino of some sort, that would have some chance/luck/skill games in it, where you could win prizes and money. The only problem that struck me was that would people like this idea, or hate it? I remember everyone wanting a Graal lottery (I could include it in the casino) But is it really the best thing to have? I mean what if someone gets lucky and wins a lot? What if you don't get lucky and lose money? Will you be angry, will it throw the economy on the server WAY off?

Some of the games I planned on having are:

BlackJack
High/Low Game
Lottery
Slot Machine
Spin the Wheel
Roulette
Prize Grab Bag

So I just wanna know if the majority agrees on something like this, before I go making it all and finding out people would be angry.

Not sure about the others, but a Grab Bag would be okay...it'd be easy. A gani, a simple graphic, and a randomization script.

ok uhm seriously,i heard about this idea from alexh,it was a great idea
drink making,you get apples and make apple juice(4 gralats,you would need 2 apples and clear water)
and bomy splash(9 gralats,you need 2 pearls and clear water)
you could put it in the mining area or pearl diving area
since it would be a bomy job
and you could make the apple juice and bomy splash a food item(for bomies

)

But we would not keep 60% of the money for ourself
like some lottery companys/countries does

So if 100 people would put 1 gralat in the slot
machine then may be 10 of them would get 3
gralats, 3 would get 10, and one player would get
40 gralats or so

I figure if the profit of the game is relatively low, then it would be okay, like paying 1 gralat to pay the higher lower game and if you win you get 2 gralat

Or maybe even base all the casino games using chips, so you win chips or something.

I love blackjack. And while your at it, make a seperate cardgame NPC so that we can play cards wherever, you would have to buy a deck of cards in the casino or something for a few gralat.

Well the "win-lose-or-draw" bit would have to be based on the amount of currency already in the machine.

You do not want to ADD more gralats.
That would be just lame.

People need to lose money to the machine and a few luck on-goers might one day win a fraction of it.

So if 100 people used the machine and it was at zero, then the amount of currency in it would be 100 gralats; simple.
If 10 more people won a pot of 3 gralats, then the current amount would stand at 80.

Therefore, the casino has made a profit. It has enough to pay the town's mayor for taxes to own land there, money to pay the workers, and money for whatever else.

Now here's the thing:
I'll help with graphics and levels and stuff.. however, ONLY if you build it in Bogenera.

I'll find a place and room for it there.

Bogenera must prosper! :-)

sorry for not reading it all but this post is growing... I just wanna say that the best way to do this is REQUIRE multiplayer and use jackpot type gambling... no real added or subtracted rupees that way... just transfer=D high stakes possible =D

You can play casino games forever.. once you're done with a quest.. that's pretty much it.. I haven't went back to the fish quest since I did it the first time. Shows just how great quests are.

Quests are great and all but games are great and they don't take weeks to make. I have never devoted enough effort into making a quest simply because I would work on it for a couple of weeks, it would get online, and then 5 minutes later the toalls would start popping up "That quest sucked" "It was too short" blah blah blah.. It isn't worth the effort plus there is nothing to quest for at the moment.

How is making graal like a carnival, a bad thing? Aren't carnivals fun? Aren't casino's fun? Isn't gambling fun?

Anyway, I think I will be heading up this project (making levels and things) If you would like to help, contact me via email, but I would prefer you contact me on aim or icq. I need someone that can do the graphics for things. I will most likely make some nice tiles for the inside, we just need roulette wheel, slot machines, and some other things.
