Maps....

When I try to make a map when i open graal and go into it in the training mode and go into my level to edit..it takes 3 secs and saves a a big black image....but when i go into the folder which my levels are in and so open with...graal.exe and press m to load my map, it works....Why is that?

Either:
You neglected to play a level with the script if(playerenters) setmap map.png,map.txt,1,1;
OR
You did that part right, but you're trying to use the original, unedited, 16.7 million color png as your map image; you have to open it in Paint Shop Pro (Photoshop, whatever) and Reduce Color Depth to 256 for it to work.

ok ... do this ... make a really big gif (about 1864x1864) and make it completely black ... Then save it in your 'graal2001/maps' folder as graalmap.gif. Next make a txt with all your levels and stuff, (a map) you should know how to do this and save it in your maps folder as whatever you want as a txt. Then put a npc in one of the levels found on your map and include this in it:

After you have done that play the level then press 'f4' then once in editor press 'm' and go through the process finally save the image and voila. If you followed me correctly you should have a map.

I use gifs because they are a lot easier then pngs and can be modified through paint whereas png's cannot.

lol my pw map is 2352x2352...i think i know the prob...i didnt put the text in the maps folder...so it dont work that way...but hwen i load the levels by using open with graal.exe it searches the script in that folder!! i think thats right....
