While us Dustarians were waiting for our castle, we thought of something. Why do we limit our military to the Army? I mean, airships are plausible in the Graalian world, and ships already exist...

Take this example into consideration:
I just can see it in my mind.... a huge Zormite battlecrusiser... firing at a distant castle... all the sudden you hear a low hum. You look above yourself, and see a huge flying ship! It rolls to the left and fires its cannons, oblivorating the masts and bridge... then a volley of cannonballs from a Dustari battlecruser smashes the side of the Zormite cruser into splinters, causing it to sink, with all hands on board.

I have no idea how this would be done... but just think about it. Imagine a hidden harbor behind the Dustari waterfall, carved out of the cliff. Trade ships moving in and out, buying and selling goods to be traded all along the coastline of the world. Imagine a huge battleship, a floating fortress if you will, making its way out to the open sea.

Then, atop the castle, another port. Except... this one holds a new invention in the Graal world... airships! Royal runabouts transporting Foreign officals in and out of the castle... small cruisers escorting the runabouts, trade airships buzzing about the landing pad, waiting their turn to land... huge battleships, bustling with cannons, loading on ammo and special paratroopers to retailate against a uprising in Harmonia...

I never posted this to tell you what we are making... this is simply a suggestion.

Tupper, you know that both you and I had the same idea. This can work. This has potential. Army battles are quite boring for some of us who are either not of the army, nor do we have any experience or do we want to be apart of land forces. This gives some of us with navy-based strategies and ideas to use them. Although I'm sure this proposal will in the end be shot down (( I do not think any military leader will agree )), it is worth a shot.

I can see why you think what you do, and I do hope too that this can work.

Yeah! Thats what I'm taliking about! Make a fet military and transport airships for each kingdom, and make a bunch of trading ships and personal ships for people to buy!

Hm. there could also be some kind of land vehicle that can hold a certain amount of players. Kind of like a smaller boat that moves a little faster.

I don't think air planes would really work...

We should also add special forces to this. I mean, we can use airships and the ships...so why not have the nice load of special forces?

I do play RPGs, thank you

When I said air planes I meant flying things in general (I have been playing Advance Wars all day today). Mabye if there was a whole set of levels that the planes use, but having the planes on the same levels as the players could get messy.

I think if a player grabs onto a balloon he can start flying but he cannot chose where to go (its all about those Carribean Trade Winds)

I am serious about it... fashion rifles is my tech limit but that doesn't disclude things THOUGHT up at around the 1600s... something u might find in an old inventors notebook or perhaps in a legend

well in that case have you ever played ff9 coz when you read your idea it sounds very much the same as whats in ff9 airships docked at the top of castles and ships at the bottom and the kingdom having an airship fleet sounds awfully fimilar(sp?) to a kingdom in ff9 called Lindblum

I've suggested many different ideas for expanding travel to the sea, but nobody of importance seems to listen =\
We've had the ideas of turtles, Ghost Pirate's mini-boats floating around all over the place now(we call them Ghost Pirate's ships because we want to!), a ship which travels to and from a single island in the sea, etc.
