"shifting" NPCs

Either the condition "created" is running more than once, or we got some real bad hackers messing with all the NPCs on classic. Either way, HELP please!

Seems some hackers are importing a weapon called GP Restore that runs created on every NPC in the level. On showcharacter NPCs with if(created) x+=0.5;, it's bad.

Yeah, but that takes way longer, and it's a real pain if you have to move the NPC later, or duplicate it, etc.

although the created part can be called

The capacity for NPCs to do this isn't what bothers me, the fact that these illegal NPCWs are getting on Classic IS! Now Bloodysin's using this exploit to launch a DDoS attack from within the game....

Yes, I spoke with Unixmad and he did some amazing server things to prevent the hackers from spamming the servers to death, however they can still bring in their own weapons, so we still have exploding cows every time I enable putnpc! Please hurry and release 2.1! ^_^

Yes, it was really bad. I preceded to go on Classic and go through every single quest on a new account: Azarian2k1

First quest - Talk to the king to get the gloves. I had to have a staff member update 4 different levels. All before I could get in the throne room.


I also noticed something about the quest to beat the baddies in the gnome house.

I was on, and opted to go ahead and get the hera in Zols toilet. I got the hera, ran over to the angel clan, and exchanged for a heart. The heart did not get added to my count(still on 3 hearts even after healing and I haven't killed anyone).

I figured that maybe I needed to go ahead and do the gnomes quest. Well, I get to the gnomes house, beat the only baddy that appeared, got my heara. Since I was short one hera for another heart, I couldn't "cash it in" . I then try to drop down the hole into the mines, but was not allowed to because I didn't "cash in" my hera. So now I'm stuck at 3 hearts when it should be 4, and no way to get another hera.

Merf, dun look at me. I didn't rescript the fullhearts, just the heras! If you got the chest, it should be there!

It'd help in that only the hackers would actually see the NPC's moved, it'd hurt in that all NPC's are local for all players.

That sounds like it would be more trouble than it's worth. I imagine all the created conditions would break...unless it is set up that every client thinks that they are the first person in the room, in which case it would probably help Classic immensely! No more boss lag when you're the second person in the room! ^_~

hrm we could treat it as local during create and then since no matter what you do the npcs will now be the same revert them back to um global... nah that probably can't be done

hexing crap is getting really bad now .. i kno too cuz UN = hexing heaven. .
some ppl can even edit npc scripts (i posted about this look)
XSergeX changed the script of an npc (hacker?)

got that before?
it would be neat if it auto jailed when ppl did that (that person was editing my fishing rod script to gain money)
and ppl can hack any npc's on the server however they want ..
but if all of a sudden all the npc's on every level messed up then its the gserver i guess..

oh and Stefan there is baddy hacking too .. i heard it was a bug in the game not hacking (not sure)

It would be a 2 minutes thing or so to makes the levels
'local'. It will sometimes be funny because you will see
people fight npcs or baddies that are on a different
position on your screen. We can also do something
that would also work in the future, like you make
a list of levels that are allowed to have
synchronization for npcs and baddies.
